A Zambian court sentenced 22 Chinese nationals to lengthy prison terms on Friday for cybercrimes, including internet fraud and online scams that targeted victims in Zambia, Singapore, Peru, and the United Arab Emirates. The defendants received sentences ranging from 7 to 11 years, and were also fined between $1,500 and $3,000. The Magistrates Court handed down the verdict after the accused pleaded guilty to charges of computer-related misrepresentation, identity fraud, and illegally operating a network or service. Update on Harare-Mutare Highway Bus Accident

The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has released the names of three victims who tragically lost their lives in a road traffic accident on the Harare-Mutare highway on Thursday. Commissioner Paul Nyathi, the ZRP spokesperson, confirmed that the next of kin have positively identified the victims as Kennedy Ngoshi (40) from Zengeza, Plaxedes Kasambwa (36) from Rusape, and Monica Katena (54) from Kuwadzana Extension in Harare. The fourth victim remains unidentified, pending confirmation by their next of kin.

According to Commissioner Nyathi, the accident occurred when a Tenda Bus attempted to overtake a haulage truck, resulting in a collision with the truck's trailer. The bus then swerved into the oncoming traffic lane, colliding with a Zhong Tong bus operated by Phils and Pats Bus Services. The driver of the haulage truck is currently at large.

This tragic incident highlights the importance of exercising caution on our roads to prevent unnecessary loss of life."
