ThisAbility Hub logo rationale
ThisAbility is about the dissemination of information. It represents the positive outlook that we envision for the African people of disability in the spaces that we all share as humans.
ThisAbility means FREEDOM. In the animal kingdom what represents freedom. The DOVE. In the Christian bible the dove was sent out by Noah to bring back information to the ark on whether or not the earth was now ‘accessible’. It was sent out three times and on the third flight it did not come back. The place was now accessible. FREEDOM for all in the spaces of work and recreation.
The logo we created for ThisAbility Hub has all these elements but in an African illustrative style to associate with our home, Africa. ThisAbility is not Zimbabwean. It is African. Our vision is bigger than Zimbabwe. We speak for Africans.
Trinity is the symbol of completion and in our logo 3 appears in the three doves for the 3 times the dove flew. There are also 3 waves that represent change. For change to be effective we need three steps:
1. Define the Ideal Future State
2. Shape Behavior
3. Review and Adjust Systems and Work Processes
Mawazo chose these colours for our client’s brand and here’s the rationale:
Blue: the color of the sky and sea. It is often associated with depth and stability. It symbolizes trust, loyalty, wisdom, confidence, intelligence, faith, truth, and heaven.
Deep Yellow: the color of sunshine, is hope, and happiness
Green: the color of life. A life worth living
The dove then breaks the circle of ‘normality’ and brings forth - FREEDOM.
