73% of carts abandoned. Zero follow-up emails. That was the reality for a Perth homewares retailer before we stepped in.

Every month, hundreds of customers were adding products to their cart, getting distracted, and never coming back. No reminder. No nudge. No second chance to close the sale.

We built a 3-email abandonment sequence. Each email was carefully crafted, from subject line to send timing, to bring shoppers back at the right moment with the right message.

Within the first month, 9% of those abandoned carts converted. That added $4,800 in recovered revenue, money that had been sitting on the table every single month.

No full email overhaul. No 6-month project. One automated flow, built properly, generating returns from week one.

Cart abandonment recovery is one of the fastest wins in e-commerce email. Most stores either don't have a sequence or are running a generic template that reads like it was written by a robot. The difference between a 2% and a 9% recovery rate comes down to the copy, the timing, and the strategy behind each send.

If you're running an e-commerce store and you haven't audited your abandonment flow recently, start there. It's the closest thing to picking up cash off the floor πŸ’‘

Your Instagram following means nothing if your email list is empty.
You can lose your Instagram account tomorrow. Hacked. Banned. Algorithm decides you don't exist anymore. Everything you built, gone.
Your email list? Yours forever.
Stop obsessing over reels that get 3000 views and talk to nobody. One email to 500 warm subscribers will outsell that every single time.
Build the list. Work the list. Everything else is just noise.

Before we jump on a call with a new brand, we spend 15 minutes pulling apart their email account.

We check the last three campaigns, the welcome sequence, list segmentation, and identify one quick win we can talk through live.

Most of what we find? A 40% open rate paired with a 0.5% click rate. The subject line promised something the email didn't deliver. And nearly every account has zero segmentation in place.

The biggest revenue fix is almost never a new campaign. It's fixing what already sends.

We audited an e-commerce brand's email account last month. 14,000 subscribers, one segment, identical emails to every single person on the list.

Their open rate was sitting below 15%.

That means roughly 11,900 people weren't even seeing the emails. And the ones who were? They were getting product recommendations they'd already bought, sale announcements for categories they'd never browsed, and welcome-style content months after their first purchase.

Every send was training Gmail and Outlook to deprioritise the entire domain.

This is one of the most common patterns we see in audits. A business builds a solid list, sends consistently, but treats every subscriber like they're the same person with the same intent at the same stage.

They're not.

A first-time subscriber who downloaded a discount code is in a completely different headspace to a repeat buyer who spent $400 last quarter. Sending them the same email doesn't just underperform. It actively pushes both of them toward ignoring you.

When we restructured this brand's sending into three core segments, engaged buyers, warm subscribers, and inactive contacts, their click rate doubled within six weeks. Revenue per email went up 38%.

No new subscribers. No new offers. Just the right message reaching the right people.

If you're sending every campaign to your full list, that's one of the first things we look at in an audit. We'll show you what targeted sending actually looks like for your business πŸ“©

4,200 subscribers and not a single welcome email going out.

That's what we found when we audited an Australian e-commerce brand earlier this year. New subscribers were signing up, getting nothing, and quietly disappearing.

It's the single biggest revenue leak we find in almost every audit. Most businesses either have no welcome sequence or a weak one that does nothing to convert.

So we built a 5-email welcome flow for this brand:

1. Immediate welcome + brand story + incentive delivery
2. Social proof and bestseller spotlight
3. Problem/solution education tied to their product range
4. Objection handling with real customer reviews
5. Time-sensitive offer to drive first purchase

Six weeks later, their email-attributed revenue was up 31%.

No new ad spend. No website redesign. No extra traffic. Just a sequence that turned existing subscribers into buyers.

Every day without a welcome sequence, new subscribers are cooling off. They signed up at peak interest, and that window closes fast.

If you haven't looked at your welcome flow recently, it's worth checking. That gap between "subscribe" and "first purchase" is where thousands in revenue sit uncollected πŸ’‘

One thing I think more businesses should focus on:

making it easier for customers to buy.

Not harder.

Clear websites. Clear communication. Simple checkout processes. Helpful follow-up. Good customer experience.

Sometimes small improvements in the backend create bigger results than constantly trying to β€œgo viral.”

Honestly, some of the best-performing business content I see lately is not overly polished at all.

It feels human.

Simple observations. Real experiences. Honest thoughts. Behind-the-scenes moments.

People are craving connection more than perfection now.
