ISP was pleased to be in attendance in Fort McMurray today as Prime Minister Mark Carney and Premier Danielle Smith announced a new west coast pipeline as Canada's first project of national interest under the Building Canada Act.

The project is paired with the Pathways carbon capture initiative and is projected to create up to 140,000 jobs at peak construction and add more than $20 billion a year to Canada's GDP once operating.

The joint announcement marks a major step in Ottawa and Alberta's shared push to make Canada a global energy superpower, with both governments aiming to have the project shovel ready by September 2027.

Doug worked across four provincial governments and five Premiers, serving as Deputy Premier under two of them. Prior to being an elected representative, Doug developed several businesses involved in international trade over a number of decades.

As Managing Partner, Andre Corbould has been building ISP since day one.

With a career spanning more than four decades, Andre Corbould has held senior leadership positions across municipal and provincial governments, most recently as City Manager for the City of Edmonton. Before that, he served as Deputy Minister across several portfolios in the Government of Alberta, including Municipal Affairs, Transportation, Education, Agriculture, Forestry, Labour, Environment and Parks. He deployed on Canadian Forces missions in Iraq, Kuwait, East Timor, Bosnia, and Afghanistan, retiring as a Brigadier General after leading Land Component security operations at the 2010 Vancouver Olympics and serving as Deputy Commanding General of the U.S. Army's 10th Mountain Division in Southern Afghanistan.
