Carried out a number of website audits for clients this past month.

Only £35 - I'll look through your website and provide feedback on a range of areas, with no obligation to hire me for any further work.

Ideal if you have a website and not sure what to do with it, or the way forward.

If you'd like me to have a look at your own website, send me a message!

Just spotted this in Poundland... and was almost tempted to buy it (I still might 😂)

While I can't fix everything, I can certainly help you with website problems you may be having.

I'm a web developer (my background is in coding) support clients with their existing websites, e.g. fixing problems, changes, setting up domains, emails, moving hosting, or carrying out one of my £35 feedback/audits.

So if you are having problems with your website you'd like me to look at, send me a message!

Is your website ready for Summer?
Already have a website, but changes need to be made?

I'm available for freelance web work next week!

Supporting clients with their existing websites (rather than websites I've created).

Whether you have problems need fixing, a store need tweaking, domains set up, or changes made - happy to take on small one-off fixes at my hourly rate, or larger projects.

If you are unsure on the way forward, I also offer feedback/audits.

15+ years experience, with a development background (so can often spot and fix problems, and sort out the technical details for your website)!

If you have problems with your website you'd like me to have a look at, send me a message!

Some testing this afternoon as I plan the next version of my comic book catalogue/organising software.

Thought there was a potential bug, but was with the actual original data being imported. However, did help me identify areas of improvement for importing. 😊

(And while a lot of my followers use my other products, including the planning, membership or audio software, a lot of improvements I identify in one product often make their way into others too.
Sometimes its also easier to implement changes in products aimed at home users like this, before adding those to the more business related products.)

Great to work with Cog Mobile to provide technical support for their website - including carrying out audits. Thank you to Cog Mobile's Justin Michael for this amazing testimonial and review...

"We have been working with Simon for a number of years on our website as we look to refresh our brand.

Simon’s attention to detail has been excellent in helping ensure our website is attractive, converting and most importantly functional!

Simon has caught many seemingly obvious mistakes in our site that would have otherwise have gone missed and we are always grateful for his ongoing assistance."

If you'd like support with your own website - whether that's changes made, problems fixed, or an audit (with no obligations to hire me for further work), send me a message!

I don't create websites!

With a few exceptions, pretty much all of my work is supporting businesses with their existing websites (rather than websites I've created).

E.g. fixing problems, making changes, providing technical support, feedback on way forward, setting up, etc.

(Saying that - sometimes there's a lot of work to do on a website, that by the end there are so many changes it ends up gradually becoming a new website!)

15+ years experience - with a coding/development background.

I'm currently available for freelance work - so get in touch if you are looking for help with your website - whether its small one-off work at my hourly rate, larger projects, or feedback.

"It's just a few lines of code."

When making changes to websites (or software) this is a big myth that I often come across - that making changes only takes a few minutes, and is just a few lines of code.

However, this is often not the case!

For example...
- Even if it is just making changes to code, those changes need to be tested.
- As well as the website itself, changes may need to be made to databases, plugins, etc.
- Rest of the website may need testing to ensure nothing is broken (you'd be amazed what impact making one line of code can make to everything else!)
- Depending on the changes, things like server capacity, hosting, etc. need to be considered.
- Clients may have questions need answering about the changes, demonstrations, etc.
- Follow-up technical support/questions after changes are made.
- Documentation may need to be written/updated.
- Plans and scopes of work need to be discussed and agreed with the client.
- Ensuring any changes are part of the rest of the website.

Not forgetting that often it isn't just changing a line of code!

If you are looking for help with your website, whether its feedback, changes or problems fixing, I'm available for freelance web work.

Overwhelmed by all the changes and things to fix on your website?

I often suggest to clients that work on their website be split into smaller pieces and done in different stages, rather than trying to do everything in one go.

This approach makes it easier to focus on each part or improvement to your website. Plus, it makes it easier to manage, help with budgeting, and allows for better testing of any changes.

In some cases, it also helps identify where and who you'll need help from. For example, some changes you may handle yourself, while other parts may require a designer, or a developer (e.g. me!).

(If you are unsure of priorities or what needs to be done, my £35 website feedback offer may be a great starting point!)

I'm currently available for freelance work, so get in touch if you are looking for help with your website - whether it's small one-off tasks, larger projects, or feedback. Send me a message or email: [email protected]

Here's a throwback Thursday picture.

This is Timing Clock from 2015.

Many developments and improvements to the software (and all my other products) in the past ten years.

While I've focused more on my website work these past few years, all my software continues to be actively developed, updated, and available from my website.

DIY website builders!

Website builders can be a great option if you want a simple website that you can set up yourself, or you don't want to hire a web designer.

There's many great options available - including Google Sites, Wix, or even a hosting providers own website tools. Or you may be confident building your own WordPress website.

Even if you are doing it yourself, I'm still happy to support you!

Some of my work is for people who have created and set up the website themselves, and need to hire me for an hour or so for more specialist help.

For example...
- Setting up the domain name with the new website.
- Fixing any last minute bits and pieces.
- Testing the website and providing feedback.

(And yes, I really did dig out my toolbox from the back of my cupboard just to take this photo.)

If you are creating your website yourself, and would like my help with any last bits and pieces to get it up and running, send me a message!
