36 years ago today, Plus2Print began.

1st September has always been an important date for our family.

It was on this day in 1990 that our dad, Tony Oakes MBE, took the leap into self-employment and started Plus2Print in Downpatrick.

In 2015, on that very same date, we lost him.

So today is always a mixture of pride, gratitude and reflection.

He never set out to build a huge company. He wanted to create something secure for his family, something built on hard work, honesty and looking after people. Those values are still at the heart of Plus2Print 36 years later.

The blog we are sharing today is particularly special because it is based on his own words and not the AI drivel that surrounds us written in his book "Into the Fire", which he never finished.

36 years on, we are still here. Still local. Still family. Still proud to carry his name and his legacy forward.

36 years in business today.

Plus2Print opened its doors in Downpatrick in 1990, and 36 years later we’re still here printing, designing and working with businesses, clubs, organisations and families across the area.

A massive thank you to everyone who has supported us over the years. Customers old and new, local businesses, friends and everyone who continues to put work our way.

Its never easy when you are a volunteer! We finally met up with the Wonderful Gavin from Plus2print. We are so grateful to him, his team and our community for all the support. I really feel when we work together, so much becomes possible. We are not alone, I feel that, and these connections are the greatest teacher. 🙏

Fantastic day for the annual remembering Tony Oakes MBE handicap hurdle….days like the family fun day don’t just happen without the support and foresight of all the staff at the racecourse they put on a day to remember for our whole family we thank you all for making us feel so special, we had a fabulous day honouring our late father who would have been in his element on days like today! ☀️☀️

Today at Downpatrick Racecourse we remember our father and founder with the annual race held in his memory.

His vision and dedication remain the foundation of Plus 2 Print as we mark 36 years in business this year. This day is a poignant occasion for our family and a proud continuation of the legacy he built.

Upcming Holiday Notice

Just a quick note to let all our customers know that Plus2Print will be closed for our annual summer holidays from Monday 13th July.

We will reopen on Monday 20th July, ready to help with all your printing, signage, embroidery and design requirements.

If you need anything before we close, please get in touch as soon as possible to allow enough time for your order to be completed.
