Most businesses running ads focus on the budget first and the creative last. The thinking makes sense on the surface, more spend means more visibility.
But an ad with a weak headline will underperform regardless of the money behind it.
The headline is the only part of your ad most people will read. Everything else only comes into play if the headline stops them first. And most headlines are written from the business's perspective rather than the customer's. What the business offers rather than what the customer is actually looking for.
A headline that says "Award Winning Digital Agency Dublin" tells the reader about you. A headline that says "Not Getting Enquiries From Your Website" tells the reader you understand their problem. One stops the scroll. The other doesn't.
We have changed headlines on underperforming ads without touching the budget or targeting and seen enquiries improve within days. Same audience. Same spend. Different message.
If your ads are running but not performing, the headline is the first place to look.
