Chelsea Announces Partnership With Jay-Z's Roc Nation Sports International

Chelsea Football Club have announced a new partnership with Roc Nation Sports International.
The new partnership will focus on combining football with music, culture, and entertainment, with the aim of making Chelsea more visible and appealing to audiences in the U.S. market.
Both organisations plan to launch creative campaigns that include music collaborations, influencer-driven content, and sports storytelling to connect with younger fans and expand Chelsea's global reach.

Scott Fenton, brand director for Chelsea Football Club, said: "This partnership represents a major step forward in how we connect with our fans in the United States. By leaning into culture, music and creativity, we’re building deeper, more authentic relationships with a new generation of supporters."
To celebrate the new partnership, which comes 13 years after Roc Nation Sports was developed in the U.S., Chelsea fans will have the opportunity to score a limited-edition Roc Nation CFC shirt signed by DJ Khaled.

Roc Nation, founded in 2008, is a major entertainment company working across music, sport, film, and artist management. Its sports division, Roc Nation Sports, has expanded internationally in recent years and now works with a wide range of athletes and organisations.

FIFA To Pay Clubs €9,000 Daily Per Player For Releasing Their Players For 2026 World Cup

FIFA are preparing a major compensation package for football clubs whose players will represent their countries at the 2026 World Cup.

According to Melchor Ruiz of El Partidazo de COPE, clubs are expected to receive more than €9,000 per player, per day throughout the tournament.

The payments will apply not only to clubs that own the players’ contracts, but also to teams where footballers are currently playing on loan.

The 2026 World Cup will be staged across the United States, Canada, and Mexico, running for 38 days from June 11 to July 19.

With the tournament expanding to 48 teams for the first time, clubs are expected to lose players for longer periods than in previous editions, increasing concerns over player workload and fixture congestion.

The compensation programme is designed to ease these concerns and reward clubs for releasing their players for international duty during one of the biggest sporting events in the world.

Alex Ekubo Reportedly Passes Away Following Illness in Lagos

Nollywood actor Alex Ekubo has sadly passed away after complications from an illness at a hospital in Lagos.

Family, friends, and loved ones are said to be deeply devastated by the heartbreaking loss.

Alex Ekubo is best known for his roles in Nollywood romantic comedies and dramas and is considered one of the most bankable and versatile talents in contemporary African cinema.

He was the first runner-up at the 2010 Mr Nigeria contest and rose to prominence in the Nollywood blockbuster, Weekend Getaway.

In 2020, he was named one of the “Most Influential People of African Descent under 40 by the United Nations, for his contributions to entertainment and social development across the continent.

Recall that Nollywood actor, Ikechukwu Ogbonna, recently cleared the air about the well-being of his close friend and colleague, Alex Ekubo, amid concerns from fans about his long absence from social media and public events.

He addressed the issue in a video shared online, in which he was seen with Alex at a family gathering.

According to him, Alex was present at his sister’s wedding and appeared healthy and fine.

He explained that the actor is not dealing with any health problems but has chosen to step away from social media and public life for personal reasons.

IK said Alex decided to take a break to focus on himself and get some rest from the pressure of constant public attention.
