That’s a wrap on “What Dat Car” with NZ Cheap Cars, Mai FM and rova.

From a creative point of view, we pitched this campaign to NZ Cheap Cars because we saw an opportunity to turn a car into more than just a product - we could turn it into a conversation.

For NZ Cheap Cars, the challenge isn’t about just being known; it’s staying front-of-mind.

So instead of a standard giveaway, we built the campaign around a simple interactive mechanic: guess the mystery car’s colour, model, year and make for the chance to drive away in a 2018 Toyota Hybrid GX Corolla, plus $500 cash.

It gave the audience a reason to listen, guess, share and engage. It gave the brand a reason to be part of daily conversation.

This is the kind of work we love building at Byond - creative campaigns that connect brand, media, social and real-world moments in a way that actually feels worth paying attention to.

Big thanks to NZ Cheap Cars, Mai FM and Rova for bringing this one to life with us.

We’re looking for:

• An Sales Account Manager who can own client relationships, sell ideas, and drive growth across inbound and outbound opportunities.

• A Digital Marketing & Social Coordinator who’s ready to get hands on with content, campaigns, and paid media.

Both roles suit people who want responsibility, variety, and the chance to work closely with founders and creatives on campaigns that perform.
