Many in the NZ horse community have heard about the seller forced to hand over $27,000 in refunds after their ex-racehorse, sold as a promising eventer, turned out to have a hidden condition (kissing spine).

The twist? The seller had no idea anything was wrong. But under New Zealand law, that didn’t matter.
