Reflection post week #5

Lockdown blues + studies + full-time families duties without a break have been a tiring emotional combination to juggle. In addition, I miss a lot the children's school and kindergarten facilities that allow me some free time to dedicate to studies.

It has been interesting and exciting to see our campaign taking shape and format. Initially, it was very daunting all the steps for our pre-campaign report. However, we all focused on our strengths over the past week to complete each suggested outline for our report.

We have learnt with each other (well, I can say that I have so much), we have shared and discussed step by step for the report. As a result, I am relieved to understand better the metrics, the target audience and objectives for this campaign, and in general for a Facebook ad campaign requirements.

The image and content creation for our posts are the next challenge. Using the Peers Assessment Facebook platform to put the mockup's design into practice has been constructive. I hope that with all the options that our group presents to each other, we will combine some great options with a suitable concept for our client, Service King.

A/B testing allows you to predict your ad campaigns. You can try different ads and targets to discover which one is the most effective and performs better for your audience. A/B testing is very effective when working with a budget higher than $2,000 per month.
In this article from Adespresso, they offer a management tool to assist in the process. I am not sure if we will be able to use something similar through our campaigns, but it is worth knowing that other tools, with extra cost, in this case, that facilitate creating campaigns with more variations and elements. You can also slipt testing multiple Facebook audiences. The options will depend on the campaign goals, and the opportunity is almost endless.
Putting your ads through A/B tests will provide valuable insights to determine if your results are valid.

Let's learn a bit more about Facebooks carousel ads.
Since we are working on it this week for our client campaign, we have the opportunity to create a carousel ad.
Some helpful insights from Pepperland Marketing article confirms that you can upload a combination of up to 10 images or videos on your carousel ad, and the users can swipe left to right to view all the images or videos.
The key factor about using carrousel is that it can reach thousands of new users. Advertisers have seen carousel link ads drive 30-50% lower cost-per-conversion and 20-30% lower cost-per-click than single-image link ads, which makes creating carousel ads much more cost-efficient while still reaching thousands of users on Facebook.

Since we have been working on our Facebook advertising campaign for our allocated business Service King, Facebook is reading me as a target audience for other cleaning services. This is provinding great insights for my research and what could work or not for our creative side of the campaign. Analysing this ad I would have recommended:
1) Higher quality video/image
2) Review on the text content
3) Improving the last slide/image when it shows the business email address and contact number. Black background doesnt align with the other images when they used blue as a colour that transmite relaxing feelings.

Reflection post week #4

This week due to lockdown, it has been challenging to make time to study and research. In addition, family and kids demand a lot of my time and energy.

I am doing my best to get my mind around the basics, and things are starting to make sense. However, I am aware of my weakness and will put time into understanding the metrics next.

This week I focused my research on Facebook frequency cap ads, KPI and benchmarks. It was very helpful to understand this topic. Of course, there were other topics I wanted to research, too, but checking out the other student's posts has provided and covered many insights.

We had a zoom meeting with our client Service King and another post-meeting with our group to clarify some specific points and workload according to our strengths. It was a great meeting, and our report is starting to take some direction now. I am looking forward to working and learning with my team to achieve all the requirements and goals for our Facebook advertising campaign to be successful.

I have had the Facebook Manager suite for the past two weeks. Although I have not used it for business purposes yet, it has been great to go there as an actual reference to check out what I have been learning and how it works while creating a Facebook ad.

This online journal has been a positive learning source.

However, the extension and the unknown of how long this lockdown will be is causing me some panic. I need the kids back to school to be able to concentrate on my studies.

Let's talk Facebook Frequency Cap Ads:
Frequency cap is the maximum number of times your ad can be displayed to one user over a specific time on its newsfeed.

Some points to consider when placing your ad:
1) When you choose a lower frequency cap, your ad will appear less frequently to a bigger number of people.
2) If you show your ad more frequently, it'll appear more often to a lower number of users.

The type of frequency cap you use will depend on your campaign goals.
Some examples:
1) to raise brand awareness and reach new users, you'll choose a low frequency of around 2. (less frequent = bigger number)
2) retargeting to users familiar with your brand, you might want to keep the frequency a bit higher, around 4 or 5. (high frequency = less number)

You also can track with your Facebook ads dashboard how many times a user has taken action on your ad.
