Print your own skin? Being sent to the Dr. by your watch?
Here's our pick of some of the more interesting business trends for 2020 👇👇👇

1. Nano-technology: 3D printing is happening alongside biological engineering. By the end of the decade, we’ll be able to print our own skin. By 2030, we’ll be printing replacement body parts like heart valves (source: mailguard.com.au)

2. AI and Healthcare: Biosensing. Imagine wearables measuring your temperature to predict that you’re catching a cold before you have one and then matching you with a distributed online pharmacy that delivers medicine straight to your door (source: fastcompany.com)

3. Going Green Is Picking Up Steam: more people are adopting a green lifestyle. Beyond Meat, maker of plant-based proteins, has increased its stock prices by more than three times since its IPO launch. But for consumers, the eco-conscious lifestyle doesn’t stop at vegetarian diets and organic hygiene products. Lunya, a popular women’s-clothing maker, constructs its products from natural fabrics and fibers, and its sleepwear and intimates lines use Pima cotton for durability and comfort. Using natural materials lowers the carbon footprint of their business, as well as that of the individual consumer (source: entrepreneur.com)

4. E-Commerce Will Continue to Dominate: in the coming 4 years, global e-commerce is expected to reach around $5 trillion causing many retailers to move investments from brick-and-mortar storefronts to online stores. Fashion Nova has utilised the power of online shopping with only a small handful of physical locations, leveraging social media to generate hundreds of millions in sales. They even created a state-of-the-art warehouse that can ship out orders faster. As more specialised retailers appear on the market, there seems to be no limit to what can be sold online (source: entrepreneur.com)

Continuing with our tech trends week, I'm sure you've heard the term, Internet of Things (IoT), how about the Internet of Bodies❓ People and mobile technology will literally be "attached at the hip". According to Forbes, there are 3 generations of Internet of Bodies that include:

👉Body external: eg wearable devices such as Apple Watches or Fitbits

👉Body internal: eg pacemakers, cochlear implants, and digital pills that go inside our bodies to monitor or control various aspects of our health

👉Body embedded: the third generation of the Internet of Bodies is embedded technology where technology and the human body are melded together and have a real-time connection to a remote machine.

Now whose not looking forward to that last one eh? 🙃🙃🙃

Looking at tech trends this week, starting with foldable smartphones 📞☎️The Escobar Fold 1 caught our attention as its been made by the family of Pablo Escobar (the infamous late Colombian drug kingpin). Can you imagine what their customer service department would be like?! "What? The phone did not snap, come here and say that to my face!" 😟

Have a read about it here:

The company behind the phone, started by the brother of the infamous drug kingpin, was apparently denied booth space at the Las Vegas trade show.
