With 'The 4 Day Week' book going on sale in NZ tomorrow, it was great to see this little story about the global campaign pop up in M+AD! Awesome way to start the year.

Almost 7 years to the day since we first aired this story on Campbell Live - the government has finally moved to get food into the schools where it is most needed. Having been involved in at least 40 stories where we've gone into homes and schools and spoken at length to teachers, parents and kids about the very real daily struggle to pay the bills and fill kids' tummies, I can't tell you how thrilled I was to hear of this initiative. The 'pokies and ciggies' excuse for inaction is almost always a cruel and deceitful myth - in the very few cases where it does play a part, it's still NOT the kid's fault and mustn't be a form of collective punishment with all the tragic downstream costs of a missed education. Without any advance notice, we asked kids in a decile 10 school, and a decile one school, to show us what they're having for lunch.
