🦺 The 3 Most Common Hi-Vis Mistakes We See on Worksites

Choosing the right hi-vis isn’t just about being seen. It’s about meeting NZ safety standards and keeping your people protected.

But we often see simple mistakes that can put teams at risk:

1️⃣ Buying hi-vis that looks compliant, but isn’t TTMC-W17 rated.
Not all hi-vis jackets or vests meet NZ transport and construction requirements. If it’s not TTMC-W17 certified, it may not be legally compliant.

2️⃣ Using worn-out, faded hi-vis.
Sun exposure and daily wear can dull reflective tape and colour reducing visibility dramatically.

3️⃣ Wearing non-compliant outer layers over compliant gear.
A compliant vest under a non-compliant rain jacket = a team member who’s technically invisible.
