Won’t lie, this one broke us a bit.
This print was 6 colour front 6 colour back simulated process.
We can tackle sim process no worries but the artwork we had from the customer was really low quality. The design looked fine on screen and blown up to 300ppi it also looked like it could work fine however the original file was so small that there just wasn’t any colour information when we tried to extract the seps.
Our customer ran it through a series of upscaling ai and it blew me away on how it managed to create enough colour data for us to be able to print. I didn’t think it was possible.
We also approached this one differently and didn’t use a white underbase. We started with a brown underbase which gave 10x times better results than the white for us.
We got this idea from studying videos. He’s a wizard!
I love this stuff cos Ive got 23years of print knowledge… but there’s still so much to learn from everyone, every age, every skill level, everywhere. It’s so cool!
