X-DEAL DOESN’T MEAN LESS EFFORT.

One mistake I see creatives make:

They accept X-deals because of the opportunity…
then treat it differently because walang cash involved.

“X-deal lang naman.”
“Free shoot lang naman.”

Wrong mindset.

Before you say yes to an X-deal, ask yourself:

“Kaya ko ba ibigay yung quality na pinangako ko?”

Because if not — don’t accept it.

Hindi sila practice client.
The person on the other end is also investing something:

Their time.
Their resources.
Their preparation.
Their trust in your name.

Your responsibility is to meet expectations and handle it professionally.

Because every output you release becomes part of your reputation.

Paid project or X-deal…

Your name is still attached to it.

Choose your commitments wisely.
Then deliver. 👊

Day 3/40: ₱2,500 → ₱250K Gigs

𝗦𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗽𝗵𝗼𝘁𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗽𝗵𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗼𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗼𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗲?

My answer: YES and NO.

YES — if it gives you something that moves you forward.

A stronger portfolio.
The right connections.
Real experience that prepares you for bigger opportunities.

NO — if you’re just doing free work hoping someone will notice you.

Exposure without direction is just free labor.

Day 2/40: ₱2,500 → ₱250K Gigs

“Bakit wala akong clients?”

Most photographers think it’s because the market is saturated.

But after 15 years in the industry, I realized it usually comes down to 3 things:

1. You’re not yet good enough for the clients you want.
And that’s okay — skills have levels. Keep improving your craft until your work matches the opportunities you’re chasing.
2. You’re good… but nobody knows you exist.
Talent without marketing is invisible. Learn how to sell, communicate your value, and put your work in front of the right people.
3. You’re showing up in the wrong space.
Your dream clients need to see you where they actually are.

Being good is the foundation.
Being seen creates opportunities.

Master your craft. Build your brand. Find your market.

𝗚𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝘃𝘀 𝗦𝗸𝗶𝗹𝗹𝘀? 𝗬𝗼𝘂’𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝘀𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗾𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻.

Day 1/40: ₱2,500 → ₱250K Gigs

One of the biggest debates photographers have is:
“Do I need better gear or better skills?”

After years of shooting commercial campaigns, my answer is…

You’re asking the wrong question.

Skills will teach you how to create.
Gear will help you execute at a higher level.

The real question is:
“Do I have the right skills to maximize the gear I have?”

Because an expensive camera with no vision is just an expensive camera.

But strong fundamentals + the right tools?
That’s where growth happens.

This is Lesson 1 of 40 lessons I learned from my first ₱2,500 shoot to landing ₱250K projects.

𝟰𝟬 𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗯𝗲𝘁𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗺𝘆 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 ₱𝟮,𝟱𝟬𝟬 𝗴𝗶𝗴 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗺𝘆 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 ₱𝟮𝟱𝟬𝗞 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁.

I didn’t build my photography business overnight.

Gear Talk.🎥📷📽️

Everyone asks about the camera, lens, or lighting setup.

Pero one of the most important things I bring to a shoot?

A camping chair.

Sounds funny, pero kapag 4AM call time, 14-hour production day, or a 72-hour shoot with broken schedules, you’ll understand real quick.

Content creation isn’t always action.
A lot of it is waiting.
Waiting for talent.
Waiting for light.
Waiting for the next setup.

And sometimes, the best gear isn’t the one that helps you create.

It’s the one that helps you last.

Lowkey one of the hardest lessons in this industry:
Take care of your energy the same way you take care of your gear.

Hindi lahat ng essential may battery.

Some of them just fold up and let you sit for a while.
