A few days in New York City, a lot of learning, and some really great people! 🗽

Last week, I attended my second Squarespace Circle Day, an annual event that brings together Squarespace designers from around the world.

And just like last year, it was a fantastic experience!

The Squarespace team does an incredible job organizing this event, from the presentations and breakout sessions to the opportunities to connect with other designers.

I got a look at some pretty amazing things coming to Squarespace over the next several months. I can't share all the details just yet, but I'm excited about what these changes could mean for the future of web design.

Some of it is a little scary because the tools and the way I build websites are evolving so quickly.

But one of my favorite messages from the event was a reminder that "no matter how much technology changes, people are still the source of great design."

The tools may change, but creativity, experience, and understanding what people actually need are still what make a website successful.

And speaking of people, that was probably my favorite part of the entire trip.

I got to reconnect with friends from last year's event, meet some new faces, and spend time with people who understand the same challenges and opportunities I face running my web design business.

It's amazing how much you can learn just by talking with other people who do what you do.

I'm grateful to be part of such a great community and excited to bring what I've learned back to Abound Web Design.

Already looking forward to next year! 🙌

Not every website project involves building something new!

Sometimes a business owner already has a Squarespace website but needs help fixing an issue, making updates, or figuring out how to get something working the way they want.

That's where I can help, too.

I recently had the opportunity to help Esther Martinez at Mindful Nutrition Guide with her Squarespace website, and she was kind enough to leave this review afterward.

I especially appreciate her mentioning patience, communication, and getting things resolved quickly.

Those are things I work hard to prioritize whether I'm taking on a full website redesign or helping someone with a smaller project.

Because no matter how big or small the job is, I want every client to feel like they received the same level of care and attention.

☕️ **Website Showcase: Perk Express!**

There's a new coffee shop opening in Van Buren this week, and I'm excited to have played a part in getting it ready!

I've been working with the team behind Perk Express, the new drive-thru coffee concept from Perk Coffee House, to create a landing page that introduces the brand and gives customers an easy way to check out the menu.

And I have to say, this has been a fun one!

The retro-inspired branding, warm colors, and coffee photography gave me a lot to work with.

But beyond making the page look good, the goal was pretty simple:

Make it easy for someone to pull out their phone, check out the menu, find the location, and get on their way to some great coffee. ☕️

That's something I really enjoy about web design.

Not every business needs a massive website with dozens of pages.

Sometimes a well-designed landing page that gives customers exactly what they're looking for is the perfect place to start.

I'm excited to see Perk Express open this week and grateful for the opportunity to help bring the new brand online!

Another shoutout for Abound Web Design! 🙌

Earlier this year, I was featured by Digital Reference in their list of Best Squarespace Designers & Developers in the USA.

They recently shared the article again, so I thought it was a good opportunity to share it here as well!

One thing I especially appreciate about this recognition is that Digital Reference considers more than just the appearance of a finished website.

Their selection process also emphasizes things like:

• Quality of work
• Clear communication
• Client relationships
• Accountability
• Helping businesses achieve their goals online

Those are all things I work hard to prioritize with every website project.

It's encouraging to see Abound Web Design recognized alongside other talented Squarespace designers from across the country.

One of the things I love most about getting client reviews is hearing what stood out to them about the experience.

That's exactly what I strive for with every project.

Website Showcase 👏

This week I'm highlighting a website I designed for HTS Nexus!

HTS Nexus provides a variety of technology solutions, from managed IT and cybersecurity to cloud services, AI-powered phone systems, and infrastructure cabling.

With so many different services, the goal was to create a website that makes everything easy to understand without overwhelming visitors.

Project highlights:

• Mobile-friendly design
• Clear service organization
• Modern, technology-focused visuals
• Easy access to quotes and support
• Simple, user-friendly navigation

But there's another reason I wanted to highlight this project this week.

Christopher from HTS Nexus recently reached back out to discuss the possibility of building a website for another one of his businesses!

That's one of the most rewarding parts of what I do.

I love building websites, but I enjoy building lasting relationships with my clients just as much.

When someone comes back to discuss another project, it tells me the experience of working together the first time was a positive one.

And that's always my goal.

That’s part of what they’re hiring me for.

I want to listen to their ideas, understand what they’re trying to accomplish, offer suggestions, take care of the details, and help guide the project from beginning to end.

That’s why I especially appreciated this part of David Dean’s review:

And just as important to me is knowing that David felt like I was available when he needed help.

A great finished website matters.

But so does having someone in your corner throughout the process.

Your website should be working for your business even when you're not.

It should be helping potential customers find you, understand what you do, trust your business, see the quality of your work, and know exactly what to do next.

That's a lot more than simply looking good.

When I design a website, I'm thinking about questions like:

→ Is the message clear?
→ Can visitors quickly find what they need?
→ Does the website build trust?
→ Are there obvious next steps?
→ Does it work just as well on a phone?
→ Is it actually helping the business accomplish something?

Because your website isn't just something your business is supposed to have.

**It's a business tool.**

And if yours isn't doing much for you right now, it should be doing more.

A lot more.

This review officially makes number 50 for Abound Web Design!

And I couldn't have asked for a much better review to mark the milestone.

I especially appreciate this part:

I don't try to compete by being the cheapest web designer.

I want to compete on quality.
