What an exciting day at the shop. The first batch of parts are out for our first ever production run.

It never gets old seeing this table just cut through like butter and hold .001" accuracy over and over day after day.

These are the top and bottom of Mezuzahs, which there will be plenty of awesome features added in by the client for the final product. Two-Point Precision did the processing of the stock, CNC cutting, routing the top edges, sanding, laser work, and finishing coat. We also printed a few components that will be used as part of the final product that we will show once the client is ready for launch.

Aspects of production can seem tedious when there's 50 of this step, 200 of these to do, 500 of that, but it also is an awesome challenge to dial in a process. Be efficient. See how we can push the speeds without exceeding our workholding or sacrificing finish. What tool selection and workholding provides the best results. There's a lot of learning that comes with doing these types of projects, especially being out first time working with Olivewood, which sits about twice as hard as oak, maple, or walnut.

Things never slow down here!

Lots of projects going on for clients, but as we take on more and more work, that also comes with larger quantities and batch work with production runs on the horizon.

This little starter exhaust system barely moved the air. Mask or not, the larger spray volumes pose a mess, hazard, and smell, no one wants in their shop.

The small window unit was removed, along with the entire window, making room for two much more appropriate, powerful, and adjustable, exhaust fans. A plenum was built allowing for much more efficient airflow and consistency as filters slowly fill up and a larger filter area.

Custom clamps were designed and printed that allow a quick install for spray filters, as well as quickly pulling them out and sliding in a panel with furnace filters for when powder coating.

Overengineered.... maybe. But it provides a cleaner, healthier, and more efficient workflow.

Now back to the various spray jobs in queue!

What an exciting day! 260 pieces of absolutely gorgeous Olivewood was delivered today. The final steps are being taken to prep for an awesome production run of a unique and beautiful project.

Not sure if I enjoy the gorgeous visuals or the fact that it adds a wonderful smell to the shop upon unboxing better!

3D scanning isn't just for complex reverse engineering projects. Here's a perfect example of getting creative with the tools at our disposal.

A great friend of ours enjoys painting small figures for local craft shows. Previously using generic files, our friend's brother is actually a great sculpture and created several small clay models. We were able to scan and recreate these models with high precision. Allowing the ability to scale the size, edit if needed, and mass produce them. Meaning our friend had a much more personal series of models to work with.

Other examples of uses for our 3D scanning we have done: recreating a guitar body, designing around vehicle frames for mounting brush guards and hitches, tool layout and organization, recreating custom trim, corbels, and rosettes, designing molds, and many more.

As much as we do the big custom projects, industrial coatings for automotive, fi****ms, aerospace, and engineering design projects, we also like to have some more simple and fun projects going to balance things out.

A recent Cerakote project. This VEPR AK had been spray painted pink, then tan, thick coatings that prevented proper fit and left a mediocre look.

With a complete tear down, every component was fully stripped, then coated. Internals coated with DFL (dry film lubricant) for ultra low friction, smooth action, and easy cleaning. Armor black on the solid colored components, and a tiger stripe style camo running fluidly over the overall firearm.

Full industrial durability, enhanced performance, and with a heck of a visual bonus.

Well, it's official...... things are full time!

Years of learning, practicing, networking with great people to mentor under, work experience, brainstorming ideas, learning the accounting side, building up the tool collection, planning with the family, registering with the township, obtaining the FFL, and so much more. In the outbuilding alone these past three years (with help from some great people) I have installed all new electrical, insulated the whole building, new roof, walls, ceiling, lighting, ventilation, dust collection, cabinets and work benches, and so much more.

Workflows, settings, and practice with: Cerakote, powder coat, 3D printing, 3D scanning, wood working, laser work, countless design projects, clients over several countries and continents, establishing stations and workflow in the shop, and so much more.

It's all come together and it is finally time.

This week a big chunk of the back logged work was caught up with. Next week things should be caught up fully and moving forward in several ways.

Expect to see a lot more consistency in posts, cool projects, and as always, reach out about any projects or work you might be interested in having done!
