If equine mortality is too expensive for you on a high dollar horse, keep in mind that you don’t have to insure them for as much as they are worth/what you paid.

For example, if you paid $50,000 for a horse but don’t want to pay for that much insurance, consider insuring for something like $25,000.

No this will not replace the horse in full, but you can purchase a nice prospect to get you started again, and it’s better than nothing at all.

And, don’t forget the $7,000 colic surgery endorsement is automatically included with mortality! I have a couple horses that are not insured for their full value, BUT if something were to happen to them I would not be left empty handed. I would be able to go buy a nice 10-15k prospect.

I can insure a horse that only has a value of 5K. Peace of mind for less that $200 is worth it to me!

Any questions feel free to ask away!!

🐴Protect What Matters Most🐴

With the recent equine outbreak, I’ve had an influx of calls from concerned owners. Some companies are placing exclusions, while others are not. The good news is: I can still get you a policy without an exclusion—we just need to take a few simple steps.

I’ve said this before, and moments like this prove it true:
Don’t wait until a crisis to get coverage. Be prepared. Be proactive. Be vigilant.

I’ve been on both sides of this.
I’ve worked in the insurance industry for a while, not a lifetime, but long enough to truly understand how these situations unfold. And I’ve also been the client facing loss. I know what it feels like to be scared, uncertain, and wishing you had better protection. That’s why I’m so passionate about helping others avoid that same heartache.

I can help you get equine insurance starting at $300 a year (or less), depending on the coverage you need. I’m an open book and will always be honest about what coverage you truly need to protect your program and your peace of mind.

Insurance can’t save your horse…
But it can save you from being left with nothing.

And getting a quote is quick and simple.
Just send me:
• Your horse’s age
• Your home state
• The discipline your horse performs
• The s*x of your horse

That’s it. I’ll take it from there.

If you’re unsure what coverage looks like or what fits your situation, please reach out. I’m more than happy to walk you through it with honesty, kindness, and firsthand understanding.

Northwest Equine insurnace has release some info!

⚠️ 𝗘𝗛𝗩-𝟭 𝗢𝘂𝘁𝗯𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗸 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗕𝗮𝗿𝗿𝗲𝗹 𝗥𝗮𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆

Please be careful out there, everyone.
Brazos Valley Equine Hospitals has confirmed multiple cases of EHV-1 in horses returning from a recent event, with several showing neurologic signs (EHM). The Texas Animal Health Commission is aware and monitoring the situation. While 5–10 cases are confirmed, the actual number is likely higher.

What Horse Owners Should Know:
1️⃣ 𝗞𝗲𝗲𝗽 𝗛𝗼𝗿𝘀𝗲𝘀 𝗛𝗼𝗺𝗲
Avoid hauling, shows, clinics, or mixing horses for the next few weeks.
Movement is the #1 driver of spread.
2️⃣ 𝗧𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗧𝗲𝗺𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲𝘀 𝗧𝘄𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗮 𝗗𝗮𝘆
Fever is often the very first sign.
➡️ 101.5°F or higher = call your vet immediately.
3️⃣ 𝗥𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗴𝗻𝗶𝘇𝗲 𝗘𝗮𝗿𝗹𝘆 𝗪𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗦𝗶𝗴𝗻𝘀
• Fever
• Weakness or incoordination
• Wide-based stance
• Changes in tail tone
• Difficulty urinating
• Lethargy or decreased appetite
4️⃣ 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘂𝗹𝘁 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗩𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗻
For exposed or febrile horses, your vet may recommend:
Valacyclovir, anti-inflammatories, anti-thrombotics, or other supportive care.
Only use these under veterinary direction.
5️⃣ 𝗕𝗶𝗼𝘀𝗲𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗶𝘀 𝗖𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹
• Do not share water buckets, hoses, grooming tools, or tack
• Disinfect thermometers, trailers, stalls, and crossties
• Isolate any horse with a fever
• Wash hands and change clothes between barns when possible
𝗔𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗩𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻
Vaccines do not prevent the neurologic form, but boosters can reduce viral shedding and shorten viremia—both of which help limit barn-wide spread.
Do not vaccinate febrile or exposed horses until cleared by your vet.
BVEH will continue providing updates as more information becomes available.
We’re thinking of everyone dealing with this right now.
Stay alert, keep your horses home when you can, and take care of them. ❤️‍🩹t

Most people insure their trucks, trailers, and barns… but forget the most valuable part of their operation the horse. 🐎

If your horse colics tonight, gets hurt in the practice pen, or has an injury on the road… insurance is what stands between you and a heartbreaking financial decision. Vet bills don’t wait, and emergencies don’t happen on schedule.

Mortality & Major Medical insurance can help cover:
✅ Emergency vet care
✅ Surgery for colic or injuries
✅ Medications + diagnostics
✅ And provides protection if the unthinkable happens

If your horse is a partner, an athlete, or your livelihood… they deserve the same protection you give everything else.

If you’ve been meaning to ask about it then this is your sign.

Drop a message or comment and I’ll walk you through what coverage looks like for your horses.

No pressure, just good information!

What You Need to Know About West Nile Virus & Your Equine Insurance Coverage
Did you know your equine mortality policy has specific rules when it comes to West Nile Virus?

Here’s the breakdown:

✔️ If your horse is up-to-date on USDA-approved West Nile Virus vaccines & boosters (with proof from your vet), you're covered if the worst happens.
❌ If the vaccines aren’t current, West Nile Virus-related losses won’t be covered.
That’s right—your horse’s vaccination records aren’t just crucial for their health, they’re essential for keeping your insurance coverage intact!

Make sure your horse is protected and your coverage stays secure!
