Last May 18, leadership from the Game Developers Association of the Philippines (GDAP) held a highly productive courtesy call with Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Assistant Secretary Nylah Bautista and the Philippine Creative Industries Development Council (PCIDC) Secretariat, led by Deputy Executive Director Paolo Ramos.

During the meeting, GDAP President Ria Lu presented the association's key priority areas. The discussion focused on critical avenues where GDAP seeks the support and resources of the DTI—ranging from capacity building and market access to institutional funding and IP promotion.

Crucially, these priority areas are designed to align seamlessly with the broader initiatives of the PCIDC. This synergy is stronger than ever now that GDAP Board Member James Ronald Lo serves as the PCIDC Private Sector Representative for the Digital Interactive Domain. With this unified front, we are bridging the gap between grassroots developer needs and national economic strategies.

We kept seeing tons of posts on Reddit and FB about where to find events to participate in. To help with this, we created our own Discord Events Bot!

The Discord Bot will keep you updated on upcoming Steam Festivals, game conventions, community talks from the various different servers, and other industry events that are worth attending or applying to.

To set up the bot on your server,

1) Enter your discord name into the google form to become authorized.

2) Type /start-trial anywhere in the Zemore Discord server (discord.gg/zemore)

3) the bottle will pop up with an invite link to invite it to your server where you just have to follow the simple instructions.

We currently only have about a dozens events on there for testing, but we will be adding tons and tons of upcoming events over the next week!
