Take away your logo and brand name. Would people still know it’s you?

For Heinz, the answer is yes.

Its “Looks Familiar” campaign stripped away the obvious branding and relied on something much simpler: the recognizable outline of a ketchup bottle. In testing, more than 70% of people recognized Heinz from the shape alone.

That didn’t happen because of one clever campaign. Heinz has spent 150 years reinforcing the same distinctive assets rather than constantly reinventing them. And when that recognition was connected to an Uber Eats promotion, Heinz saw a 222% increase in sales through the platform.

It’s a reminder that consistency doesn’t have to mean boring. Done well, it builds a brand people recognize before they ever see the name.

So, what does your brand already own in the minds of your audience?

Getting attention is one thing. Building a connection that lasts is another.

At NJDMC 2026, Building the Connection: How Brands and Media Earn Attention will bring together leaders from across the platform, agency, media, and brand sides of the industry to talk about what it takes to reach audiences today.

Eric Farkas, Senior Lead, Product Marketing at Pinterest, brings the platform perspective.

Kelsey White, VP of Client Services and Delivery at GNW Consulting, brings experience helping brands navigate an increasingly complex media landscape.

Karen Kehm, VP of Communications at QYOU Media Inc., brings the media and communications perspective on reaching and connecting with audiences.

Eva Press, Chief Growth Officer at 37Arc and former VP at Meta, bringing experience across brand building, platforms, growth, and AI.

Together, they’ll explore shifting platforms, changing consumer attention, and how brands can create connections that actually mean something.
