This is the Tongass, and we love it about as much as anywhere we've ever worked.
The Forest Service is moving to erase the Roadless Rule — 44.7 million acres nationwide, 9.3 million of them right here. Roads, and the logging that follows, into country that has never had either.
Last year, 625,957 people commented. 99% said no. That record is exactly why this isn't over — it's the ground every lawsuit gets argued on, and it's why Earthjustice, the Sierra Club and the Wilderness Society are already going after the rushed 30-day window. The pressure is landing. It just has to keep landing.
Here's the catch: last year's comments don't carry over. New docket, new comment. If you spoke up in 2025, you have to do it again.
