So... here's how the "S.O.L.D" System came to be,

I found out about the power of mobile apps, and wanted to start offering them to small businesses. Sent out an email and got a few clients.

I'd been working with social media and mobile apps in my corporate career since the mid 2000's, so helping small businesses was easy for me.

After I created Tony Nelson's King Of Philly Cheesesteaks mobile app, Tony wanted to try me out with his social media. And BOY did we get GREAT RESULTS.

Tony said he didn't want to spend any more money on advertising, and I wanted to prove you could grow your business organically, with no money IF you did so strategically.

You COULD grow your business using just MOBILE APPS (SMS messages about specials, loyalty rewards, referral rewards, check in online, order online and more!). I once generated 35 leads in one minute at a live event using this method.

You COULD also grow your business using SOCIAL MEDIA - IF you did so strategically - meaning use video, incorporate gamification, and come up with ideas to increase engagement, tagging, sharing and growing organically.

We also grew Tony Nelson's following and omnipresent reach by improving his Google Business Page and encouraging reviews and check ins. That was part of our LOCAL MARKETING strategy. Also FREE.

And so the "S.O.L.D" System began - No money, no time, no experience, no staff, no tech skills, no nothing?

START WITH VIDEO - anybody can make a video. Now just post those online.

NEXT - GET REVIEWS, set up your GOOGLE BUSINESS PROFILE - also FREE, and start using local keywords and LOCAL SEARCH TERMS in your content so your business gets FOUND.

Traditional SEO can take a long time, and even if you have the BEST WEBSITE IN THE WORLD, people will still CHECK OUT YOUR REVIEWS, so speed up your SEO by getting reviews on YELP, TRUST PILOT, GBP and listing your business in local directories.

NEXT - focus on mobile marketing before social media, because it's a quick win.

Create a mobile app, offer a FREEMIUM model, then get people on a paid subscription to unlock more features. Use QR codes for lead gen, SMS messages and more - THEN move into the behemoth that is SOCIAL MEDIA.

And THAT is how the "S.O.L.D" System began.

The 9th month of the year is almost over and soon we'll be wrapping up the 9th strategy of the "S.O.L.D" System - Strategic Organic Leads on Demand (Using demand generation to create content that created demand). Last month we produced tons of marketing assets to promote in strategic places.

This month we put those marketing materials on the platforms that make the most sense depending on our ideal target audience (Linkedin, TikTok, email nurturing campaigns, paid ads etc.)
