🌿 You do NOT need a huge budget to start growing your own herbal apothecary

One of my favorite ways to save money?
Rooting new plants in water from herbs I already have

Free plants.
More herbs.
And a bigger garden without spending much at all.

Little by little, these tiny cuttings turn into a backyard full of medicine, tea herbs, pollinator plants, and old-fashioned wisdom.

Simple living really is beautiful.

🍉 Before you toss that watermelon rind in the compost pile, take a second look!

Most people enjoy the sweet red fruit and throw the rest away, but the white rind has been traditionally used as a refreshing summer food for generations.

Some herbalists and homesteaders enjoy watermelon rind:
•For its natural hydration
•As a source of fiber
• For its citrulline content, which supports healthy circulation
• In pickles, teas, and smoothies

One of my favorite things about herbalism is discovering useful parts of plants that often get overlooked.

Have you ever used watermelon rind for anything? Pickles? Tea? Something else? Let me know below!

You do NOT need a huge garden, fancy setup, or dozens of herbs to begin learning herbalism.

These little kitchen herbs? They’re just clippings from plants I recently bought. 💚 A tiny beginning can still grow into something beautiful.

One of the biggest things I’ve learned is this:Start with what you have.Learn one plant at a time.Use the windowsill.Dry the extra.Keep it simple.

So many people think they need acres of land or a full apothecary before they can begin… but honestly, a few humble herbs in a kitchen can teach you so much 🌱
