That’s a wrap for the Riverlife Chalk Fest in Pittsburgh, PA! The weather and the crowds were outstanding both days. It was a gift to be part of such a great event. Special thanks for and for having me out here this weekend. Grateful to have been part of it!

Like many of you, I like to set some goals at the start of the new year. Mine often focus on ways I can stretch my creativity and challenge myself to learn something new. One of my 2026 goals is to do something I’ve never done before… the kind of thing that scares me just a little bit, in a good way. 🙃 I am getting after it early with two upcoming events:
- the has invited me to come speak at one of their demo days! I’ll be joining them Thursday February 5 from 6:30-8:30pm.
- The next morning I fly out to kick off my 2026 chalking season at the Florida State Fair and I can’t wait!

Can we talk about how sometimes the best tool for the job is the cheap old worn-out, rough paint brush? Don’t get me wrong. I love a clean, fresh, soft-bristle brush that holds a ton of paint for those crisp edges and that perfect coverage. But every now and then, the cheap-o brush with the bristles bending every which way and occasionally falling out… that one is gold.
