There are quite a few new faces around here lately, so I figured I should probably introduce myself instead of just continuing to randomly appear on your feed holding a camera. 😂
I’m Kaylynn Leigh Workman, the owner, photographer, editor, scheduler, social media manager, professional child negotiator, occasional location scout, and basically everything else behind Olive Tree Photography.
But before any of those things, I’m a mom, and honestly? I think motherhood is one of the biggest reasons photographs mean so much to me.
Because I know what it feels like to look at a picture and think, How were they ever that little? I know how quickly ordinary days become memories, and I know that sometimes a photograph becomes more important with every year that passes.
That is why I do this.
Olive Tree Photography isn’t about creating a perfectly posed version of your life. Your kids absolutely do NOT have to behave perfectly for me. Your toddler can decide they’re done with pictures seven minutes into the session. Somebody can blink. Somebody will probably complain. And there is a very real possibility that at some point I’ll be making ridiculous noises behind my camera trying to get your child to look at me. 😂
I don’t need perfect.
Give me real.
Give me the belly laughs. The forehead kisses. The little hand wrapped around yours. The kid who refuses to smile until nobody is asking them to. Give me the chaos, the love, the awkwardness, the happy tears and all the tiny moments happening between the pictures you thought we were taking.
Because someday, those are the things you’re going to miss.
And that’s what I want to give back to you.
I built Olive Tree after being told for YEARS from someone who I “trusted” that I’d never get anywhere with it, but somewhere along the way, I did it anyway and I couldn’t be happier with the outcome of my decision. Something I’ve worked for, learned from, screwed up occasionally, grown through, and continued believing in.
And I’m damn proud of that. 🌿
You see, Olive Tree Photography gave me a new life. A happy life. A memorable journey that I’ve never stopped loving or enjoying.
Every single time someone trusts me to photograph their family, their children, their wedding, their senior, their relationship, or another piece of their story, they’re trusting me with something they can’t get back:
a moment in time.
I don’t take that lightly.
So, whether you’ve been supporting Olive Tree from the beginning or you just hit that follow button yesterday, thank you for your support and WELCOME to the business that quite literally saved my life.
