Truly the honor of my career.
I recently created a new logo for the Friends of Minute Man National Park, a brand refresh inspired by The Minute Man, Daniel Chester French’s iconic statue of farmer-turned-soldier Isaac Davis.
My goal was two-fold: To create a strong graphic that can hold up as a logo, of course, but also to capture Isaac Davis the man—the young farmer who believed in a better world for his children, who died on the first day of the Revolution. Brave and hopeful. I hope the design evokes that feeling for you.
Located in Concord, Lexington, and Lincoln Massachusetts, Minute Man National Historical Park protects over 1000 acres of historic battlefields, buildings, gardens, and conservation land, including the Old North Bridge (site of the shot heard round the world), The Wayside (home to Louisa May Alcott and later Nathaniel Hawthorne), and the Buttrick Gardens. It is considered one of America’s most endangered historic places due to the immense pressure to develop in the Greater Boston area. And it is an absolute treasure.
The fact that this project coincides with our nation's 250th makes it all the more meaningful, inspirational, heartrending, and humbling. Thank you for letting me share it with you.
