This post is for our fellow freelancers 👩🏼‍💻

When we got started, we did what we could with what we had. But after almost four years in business, it feels like we're finally shedding our skin and burying the old ways. This includes better systems and procedures, taking time to implement the automations that we do for our clients into our own business, and making things easier for our clients and us.

We found Moxie through our colleague Kelli of Kosel Designs and have been lovinggg it. It took us a little while to implement, but we're so happy with how much the platform has evolved, the freelance community that comes with it (hello, Thursday meetings at noon to learn just how much the platform offers), and are obsessed with the client portal, which we just launched for our clients.

Meet Amanda! Her talent stretches across many artistic industries. She's a photographer, dance teacher, hair tinsel and men's haircut specialist, and special effects makeup artist and actor in Buffalo, NY. As a lifelong dancer, Amanda is no stranger to being in front of an audience, but life brought her an opportunity to step behind the camera, and Dancing Lens was born. She focuses on capturing memories, movement, and emotion.

Like many photographers, Amanda's hard drive is full of sessions she's done but lacks photos of herself on this fairly new venture. But she carved out some time this past August, so we could capture some photos that she could work into the brand she's building for herself.

Amanda was our first headshot session since we picked up our camera this past summer, and we're so grateful for her eagerness, support, and for being our first model. We even ventured downtown in Corning, NY, at golden hour later that day to play around with some outdoor lighting (which is easy to do when your client is also your family and an overnight guest in your house lol).

Merch update! Spring is working on migrating our store to Amaze but it may take awhile. We’re grateful we’re not going to lose all of the work we put into it. BUT after some time researching other options, we stumbled upon a different one that we really like and are currently looking into moving our store over to it. Stay tuned for a new merch drop this fall featuring some new styles 🙌🏼

The dropshipping platform, Spring, that we use to sell our merch, has shut down as of yesterday and moved to Amaze. We unfortunately missed the window by one day to migrate our merch designs from Spring to Amaze because they didn't do it automatically.

We didn't know this would be happening because their email communication went to our spam folder. We have reached out to them to see if they can make an exception for transferring our designs over, but are not confident in it.

This means we will be taking down our merch shop for now. We will be taking some time over the next couple of months to research other dropshipping platforms to ensure we're using one that is trustworthy and reliable.

Our store may still show as live on their end, but it is not. We will have access to the backend of Spring until October 15, and then they will be completely closed.

Thank you for your support by purchasing some of our branded merch over the past year. We hope to bring you even better options and designs in the future!

Have you met Felicia? She's the Executive Editor at Spoon University and a food content creator in the Finger Lakes. She shares fun and approachable dishes while helping you feel confident in the kitchen.

We had so much fun capturing her in her kitchen, cooking and doing the thing she loves most. From making a delicious pasta dish from scratch to sourcing herbs from her garden, we captured the whole process from start to finish. Now she has photos to come back to whenever she needs a headshot or to create additional content.

We've been connected to Felicia for a while and have loved learning from her and watching her grow online over the past year. She just recently hit 10k followers on Instagram by posting consistently and sharing what she loves!

We're so grateful she included us in her food content creation and can't wait to see what else is in store for her. Be sure to follow her!
