Building community together.

As part of our campaign with the South of 6 Business District, we collaborated with Dream City to co-produce DreamFest, celebrating 14 years of Dream City and the impact it’s had on the community.

More than 150 people came together for a day filled with local vendors, live music, giveaways, community conversations, and connection. With nearly 20 local vendors and more than 20 giveaways, the event created new opportunities for people to connect with the district and their community.

For Cocoa Creative, this is what we strive to do. Bring people together, amplify local organizations, and create meaningful connections.

Come celebrate South of 6 at DreamFest!

The South of 6 Business District invites you to join us for the South of 6 Vendor Market at DreamFest on Saturday, August 29 from 12:00–6:00 PM at Dream City, 611 South Gate in Iowa City.

This is more than a vendor market — it’s an opportunity to come together, support the businesses and entrepreneurs that make the South of 6 community special, and enjoy an exciting day at DreamFest, hosted by Dream City.

Come shop local, connect with your neighbors, discover businesses throughout the district, and enjoy live music, food, prizes, giveaways, family-friendly activities, and more throughout the day.

Incoming passport destination… RSFIC!

RSFIC is an Iowa City-based organization that works to foster a sustainable and resilient community through grants, events and community-based efforts.

At DreamFest on Saturday, August 29th, RSFIC will offer information about its organization and space at 1927 Keokuk Street. Attendees can learn more about RSFIC and the work they do while exploring other businesses within the SO6 district.

For a chance to win prizes, visit RSFIC and take a tour of its space, where you can scan the QR code to sign up for the digital passport.

The second South of Six Vendor Market, in collaboration with Dream City’s DreamFest, is only a few weeks away, and we couldn’t be more amped up for what’s coming!

This day is all about boosting foot traffic, supporting local businesses, and building economic momentum in a community that continues to grow and thrive. From small business storefronts to the incredible vendors joining us for the event, there will be opportunity at every corner.

The South of Six Vendor Market is coming back, and this time, we’re teaming up with Dream City’s DreamFest on August 29th!

DreamFest is a celebration of fourteen years of impact and one year in their new home, and we’re honored to be part of a day that highlights so much growth, strength, and resilience. To learn more about DreamFest, check out Dream City .

With both events happening side‑by‑side, the energy in the district is going to be unreal. We’re bringing back the passport program, so make sure you hit every stop for your chance to win prizes. If you happened to miss the last event, don’t worry there’s one more! On August 29th we will be hosting another South of Six Vendor Market and Summer Social in conjunction with Dream City’s Dreamfest!

We’re still reeling from the incredible success of the South of Six Vendor Market and Summer Social on July 25th! The district was buzzing as attendees explored vendors, discovered new favorites, and visited local businesses through our passport program. Every stop brought pride, connection, and a chance to win prizes along the way.

It was a beautiful day filled with community spirit you could practically feel. South of Six is rising, and we can’t wait to see what’s next.

Wow! That’s truly the only word that captures the South of Six Vendor Market and Summer Social. Even with a few hiccups along the way, the team rallied, adapted, and delivered an event that showcased everything that makes the South of Six Business District so special. The day wasn’t just about vendors or activities, it was about proving, once again, the strength of a community that shows up for itself.

Throughout the event, people wandered through the businesses that define this district. Every booth, every conversation, and every moment highlighted the culture, determination, and resilience that make South of Six stand out. You could feel the pride in the air, the momentum building, and the shared belief that this district is rising, together.
