Severe storms could leave two parts of the country with large hail and impactful winds, today.
A level 3 risk stretches across parts of the eastern Great Lakes and Northeast, where storms are expected to strengthen this afternoon and move from western New York and Pennsylvania toward the Mid-Atlantic. Impactful winds are the main concern, but large hail and a few tornadoes are also possible.
Out west in northern and central Montana, another Slight Risk storm system is expected to develop over the northern Rockies. Isolated hail and impactful winds are the main concern, with additional storms across Wyoming, Colorado and parts of Nebraska.
Down in southern Texas, Tropical Depression Edouard remains a major flooding concern, after producing extreme rainfall. More torrential rainfall can worsen ongoing flash flooding areas as the system continues to weaken.
