We specialize in serving the restoration industry, but many others use our maps and expertise of forensic meteorologists! Hail Trace uses our knowledge in severe weather forecasting to give companies a head start on their competition at restoring the lives of those in need. In addition to our forecast abilities we create hail maps that show the exact path hail storms take and overlay that swath on a Google map.

The strongest El Nino in roughly 200 years is set to unfold this winter, while a few storms could pack enough hail and wind to be severe this afternoon across the US.

The severe threat is isolated in Marginal Risk areas across the Great Lakes, central Plains and Great Basin. Storms are expected to strengthen in the afternoon and evening hours.

In the Central Plains, isolated stronger storms could produce severe hail and impactful winds. And in the Upper Midwest and Great Lakes, severe storms may crop up as they move through a warm and humid environment.

El Nino continues to rapidly strengthen, as the latest outlooks are starting to put this event into a potentially historic territory. NOAA says there is now a greater than 90% chance of a very strong El Nino this fall and winter.

Out in the Gulf, clusters of disorganized storms are quickly strengthening, with an 80% chance of becoming Tropical Storm Edouard. This would be the next named storm of the Hurricane Season. Tropical Storm warnings are in effect along the Louisiana and Texas coasts, meaning that tropical storm conditions are expected within 24 hours.

Severe storms remain the main weather story across parts of the U.S. today, with hail and impactful winds possible before attention shifts south toward the remnants of Dolly in the Atlantic.

Thunderstorms are expected to develop across portions of the Plains and other pockets of the country this afternoon and evening. Some storms may become strong to severe, bringing a risk for up to hen-egg-sized hail and impactful wind gusts.

Meanwhile, Dolly has weakened from a tropical storm into a remnant low while continuing westward across the tropical Atlantic. The system is still expected to bring moisture toward portions of the Caribbean, where locally heavy rainfall could become a concern this weekend.
