What I’ve realized lately is that I’ve been missing out on some simple yet GOOD daily connections!

The mission of Do Some Good Marketing has always been to make sure I am giving back and doing good for others, but also for myself. And recently, I noticed I had been missing the goodness that comes from everyday conversation and genuine connection.

So I was very happy to enjoy a long overdue lady date with a wonderful colleague and community connection.

So good seeing you, Sarah Ricker! Here’s a little then and now for us to reminisce on how far we’ve both come in just a couple of years.

And here’s hoping we continue finding ways to work together and do some good together through our respective skill sets in the near future.

I was invited to attend and contribute to Raise the Bar Hancock County's research surrounding digital technology, management, and marketing/sales careers and opportunities in our region.

Local professionals joined one of my favorite ladies ever - Tricia Valasek - in helping address the aptitude-interest gap for Hancock County students, and it was inspiring to be part of the conversation.

There is something really powerful about getting educators, professionals, and community leaders in the same room to talk about how we better prepare the next generation for real careers, real opportunities, and real life.

I like to think that great minds were at work at the Hancock Hotel, yesterday!

And as an added bonus, I also ran into a Friend. Always good seeing Barb Williamson with FriendsOffice!

Are your social posts built to convert?

Let’s say it’s Cinco de Mayo and you’re a food distributor.

You post a beautiful photo of tacos and say:

“Let’s taco ’bout the difference between good and great tacos…”

Fun. Clever. Gets likes.

But it doesn’t drive business.

Here’s how you fix it:

“Let’s taco ’bout the difference between good and great tacos…
Restaurants across the Midwest trust ABC Company for ingredients that keep customers coming back for more.
Ready to elevate your menu? Send us a DM to get started.”

Now you’ve added:
• who you serve
• where you serve
• and what to do next

That is the difference between posting for engagement and posting for conversion.

If you’re ready to elevate your social posts and create memorable experiences for your followers, customers, or donors, send ME a DM to get started.

Let’s do some good marketing, together!

P.S. I love how my fav photographer always catches me up to my shenanigans behind the scenes ( ❌ ⭕ Chelsie Hosmer Photography ), she's the best!

I believe everyone has that one thing…

The thing where you think, “If I were good enough, I’d be doing that right now.”

But what I’ve realized is… sometimes the thing you thought you wanted isn’t actually where you really shine and find purpose.

Maybe you do your best work behind the scenes, helping other people shine.

And honestly? I know now that’s exactly where I belong.

👇 Now I’m curious…

If you could be doing anything in an alternate universe, what would it be?

Branding is everywhere.
And when you start paying attention, you realize just how much it shapes how we think, feel, and experience the world around us.

A simple sign outside a chocolate shop reiterates exactly how you feel.
A barbecue and music festival that brings people together for a cause.
A dinner experience that ends with a small, thoughtful gift for the next morning.

None of those things are accidental.
They are intentional.

Good branding is not just what something looks like.
It is how it makes you feel.
It is how immersive the experience is.
It is the details you remember long after the moment is over.

The best brands do not just serve a product or a service.
They create an experience people want to be part of and talk about.
And when that happens, the marketing takes care of itself!

Well… this was not the plan 💦

Got caught in the rain walking the dog over the lunch hour and came home completely soaked!

But instead of immediately fixing it, I let it air dry.

And somehow… it turned into a really good hair day.

There’s probably a lesson in there.

I was just listening to a podcast where a neuroscientist talked about how what we focus on shapes how we experience reality. We can either let something throw us off or choose how we respond to it.

This could have annoyed me. It could have ruined my mood.

But I rolled with it.

And it turned out better than expected.

Not everything needs to be controlled.
Not everything needs to be polished.
Not everything needs to go according to plan.

Sometimes you just let it be and see what happens.

Same goes for marketing.

Some of the best content is not perfectly curated. It is real. It is in the moment. It is a little messy.

And because we’re all human and a little bit messy, that kind of content will often resonate most with your audience.

Be honest… are you the type to try and fix a situation immediately or are you naturally a roll-with-it person? 🤔

I owe you all an office tour, I know it! So here’s a little behind the scenes look at some of my favorite spots around my “new” one year old office space.

☝️Fun fact:
My podcast studio is open for rent!

You can rent it by the hour or by the day, and the space is flexible. Chairs, tables, and sofas can all be interchanged thanks to my partnership with FriendsOffice.

I also have a variety of microphones, mic stands, and a RODE mixer that supports up to four mics. Or you can go Bluetooth for up to four as well.

If there’s something my space is missing for your podcast or content production, let me know. I’m always open to making it even better for future guests, and one of my favorite parts of my job role is that I get to help people like you create an amazing podcast from branding to production to exposure!

What would you want in a space like this?

Well… I really didn’t want to, but I hiked up to 2400+ elevation yesterday.

Did I mention I am afraid of heights?

I don’t love staying on the 20th floor of hotels. The idea of getting stuck at the top of a roller coaster and having to take the stairs down makes me freeze. Honestly, I think they would have to carry me down. Glancing over the edge of balconies does not sound relaxing to me.

And I could see one of my little guys feeling the same way when we were deciding whether or not to go for it…

But you know what we did?

We were scared… and we did it anyway.

And that feeling when you make it all the way to the top and back down again? There is nothing like it.

The euphoria.
The pride.
The sense of accomplishment.

What an amazing reminder for life, for sports, and for business.

You can be scared.
And still do it anyway.

I am so proud of this little family of mine. We are a little sore today, but very happy together, enjoying our adventurous spring break!
