Okay, I'm not really that surprised but I am
truly excited that you ladies are SHOWING UP! šŸ¤

The response to our Iconic Woman Event has already been more than we could have hoped for, and we have a little update:

We only have 18 of our Iconic Woman bags left to give!

We honestly only ordered a limited number of these specialty bags to fill with goodies, samples, resources and a few surprises for the women spending the afternoon with us. We had NO IDEA this many would commit!

Once these 18 are claimed through registration, you can still register AND we will have the samples and goodies for you, but we can’t guarantee you’ll get a bag after the next 18 registrants!

If you’ve been thinking about joining us… LET'S GET YOU REGISTERED!

✨ We currently have lots of makeup + photo availability between 2–4 PM, too, so this is a great time to grab your spot.

Come when you can. Stay as long as you’d like. Get your makeup refreshed. Step in front of the camera. Create a social video. Grab a dirty soda. Eat some charcuterie and ice cream. Put a little bouquet of fresh flowers together. Meet some really great women!!

And give yourself a little time to just enjoy being the one who’s being taken care of for a change.

Who wants one? šŸ‘œšŸŒæ

Dolly sure knew a thing or two about being an iconic woman. šŸŽ¤

So in honor of her, the five women behind The Iconic Woman each chose a Dolly Parton quote that felt a little like us.

Some made us laugh. Some made us think. And somehow, every one of them came back to something we’ve been talking about a lot lately:

Making room for yourself!

We’re business owners, moms, creatives, community advocates, helpers, planners, photographers, marketers, encouragers and the women who are so often behind the scenes making things happen for everyone else.

And maybe that’s part of what makes a woman iconic.

Not that she always feels iconic.
Not that she has it all together.
But that she keeps showing up, keeps giving, keeps dreaming and keeps doing.

šŸ“ø These photos were all taken by our own Chelsie Tahy of Chelsie Hosmer Photography at Do Some Good Marketing's office, and they’re also a little peek at the kinds of photos you can have taken when you join us for The Iconic Woman on September 17. Photos that feel like you, not just another headshot... šŸ¤

ā€œDon’t get so busy making a living that you forget to make a life.ā€ šŸ¤

The women we want in this room aren’t necessarily women who feel iconic...

ā–ŖļøThey’re the photographers who are never in the photos.
ā–ŖļøThe business owners who haven’t made time for their own businesses.
ā–ŖļøThe nonprofit leaders pouring themselves into a mission.
The moms fitting work into the spaces between everything else.
ā–ŖļøThe creatives, leaders, helpers, makers and women who somehow always seem to be the ones making things happen.

Women like us. Women like you!

On September 17, we’re putting all of that aside for an afternoon and making a little room for ourselves. Come spend it with us; come be pampered! 🌿

I don’t think I realized while I was living it, but every stop along the way was teaching me something about marketing…

Corporate marketing taught me how to think about business, customers, sales and budgets, and then how to tie those activities directly to results.

Nonprofit marketing taught me how to make a lot happen with a little, how to rally people around a mission and how incredibly powerful a good story can truly be.

Entrepreneurship has taught me to look at ALL of it differently! To move on ideas quickly. To trust the process of trial and error. To understand what keeps someone up at night. And to never forget that marketing has to actually DO something good to be effective.

And now?

My clients get all of it. And all of me! ā¤ļø

Every lesson learned. Every campaign that worked. Every one that didn’t. Every audience I’ve had to understand. Every budget I’ve had to stretch. Every story I’ve had the privilege of telling. Every weird idea that somehow turned into a really good one. šŸ˜‚

It all comes into the room with me.

And I think that might be the part I’m most grateful for.

Do Some Good Marketing may have started in 2020, but the experience behind it started a whole lot earlier.

What a gift to get to take everything I’ve learned along the way and use it to help really good people and organizations do really good work.

It's been a career spent doing some good.
And hopefully, a whole lot more good ahead!ā¤ļø

ā€œBut, wait! I have an idea for your next social post.ā€ šŸ’”šŸ˜‚

So, the downside of hiring someone whose brain is always marketing?

My brain is always marketing…

I’m noticing the trend your business could jump on.

Thinking about how to tell that customer story.

Turning the random thing you mentioned in a meeting into a campaign.

Wondering why we aren’t talking more about that one thing your business does REALLY well!

Because good marketing doesn’t always start with a perfectly planned content calendar.

Sometimes it starts with someone paying attention.

And then doing something really, REALLY GOOD with it.

So, if I’m delayed in responding to you, please don’t worry. I’m just busy planning our next move.

I’ve got you! šŸ˜‰

If you’re anything like me, you spend a lot of your time taking care of everyone else...

Your family.
Your business.
Your employees.
Your clients.
Your community.

And somewhere along the way, it’s easy to forget that you deserve beautiful things too.

You deserve time to pause.

To refresh.

To reconnect with yourself.

So do yourself a favor!!!
šŸ—“ļø Block off the afternoon of Thursday, September 17.

I’ve been working alongside four incredibly talented local women, and we’re creating something special for women who are ready to reinvest in themselves, celebrate who they are, and simply come back to themselves.

We’ve been designing an afternoon that’s equal parts inspiration, education, connection, and fun, with practical ideas you’ll be able to take with you long after the event is over.

More details are coming very soon!

But trust me… you won’t want to miss an afternoon dedicated to refreshing, celebrating, and coming back to the iconic woman you already are! šŸ¤

Every day of our vacation I heard,
ā€œMom… stop working. We’re on vacation.ā€

And every time, I felt a little guilty.

But here’s the reality…

If owning my own business means using the first quiet hour of the morning to answer emails, check in with clients, and keep things moving so I can spend the rest of the day swimming, exploring, laughing, and making memories with my family… then that’s exactly what I’ll do.

The flexibility of owning my business hasn’t always felt like one of its greatest gifts.

In fact, the day after I officially gave up my W-2 job, our oldest son suffered a grand mal seizure and had to be life-flighted to the hospital.

Talk about timing… and suddenly navigating life without employer-sponsored insurance. 🫠

That experience changed me.

It reminded me why flexibility wasn’t just something I wanted. It was something my family might one day need.

The truth is, work and life often blur together when you own a business.

That’s hard to explain to kids.

But I hope one day my boys won’t remember that Mom answered a few emails on vacation.

I hope they’ll remember that I was there.

That I hiked the trails.

That I sat through the baseball games.

That I cheered from the sidelines.

That I built a business around being present for the moments that mattered most.

I hope they’ll see a mom who showed up for the people she served and for the family she loves.

And I have a feeling all those blurry lines will have been worth it.
