Spotted some changes on the Godfrey Campus lately? 👀

That's because the Baldwin, Caldwell, and Fobes buildings are undergoing a massive $50 million renovation to completely upgrade our Main Complex! Funded by $37.5 million in state support and $12.5 million from our Board of Trustees, this project is transforming the heart of our campus. There's still a long way to go, but when these buildings reopen in early 2028, you can expect a brand-new, centralized student center that streamlines the onboarding experience by grouping critical services together.
The Fobes Hall will be the main point for Enrollment and Advising, Financial Aid and Bursar departments, along with the Assessment Center and Access and Accommodations.
In Caldwell Hall students will find upgraded classrooms, offices, Early Childhood Development spaces, and faculty offices. That's also where the Center for Student Engagement will be located, which will consist of Student Activities, Government, clubs, Dean of Students, and a centralized IT Help Desk.
Finally, the Annex at the Baldwin Hall is being repurposed for the College for Life program, which serves students with disabilities, but it will also house departments such as Marketing, PR, Mental Health Counseling, Academic Affairs and the Adult Education Program.

The best thing? Even though this project introduces modern features such as furniture, branding colors, graphic wall displays, enhanced wayfinding, upgraded lighting, and natural light via glass integration, the beautiful historic stonework and millwork that makes our campus so unique will be ✨preserved✨.

Lewis and Clark Community College President Ken Trzaska joined Edwardsville Mayor Art Risavy, Edwardsville City Council members and members of the Edwardsville Community Foundation on Tuesday, Aug. 4, for the official opening of the new all-abilities playground located on the grounds of LC’s N.O. Nelson Campus.

The gated playground was made possible through a $600,000 contribution from the David Kriege family, which owned and operated Kriege Hardware in Edwardsville for nearly a century.

The Edwardsville Community Foundation was entrusted with using the donation to enhance the quality of life through recreation, preservation and beautification of the city of Edwardsville.

Henry Dunn, nephew of Edwardsville Alderman SJ Morrison, was on hand to participate in the event and enjoy himself on the playground equipment. Dunn is considered an inspiration for the project.

Although work on the project will continue with the addition of signage and landscaping, the playground is open to the public from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.
