There are some books you read. And then there are books that change the way you see the world.

I bought Advertising Design by Robin Landa my sophomore year at Kendall College of Art and Design after my professor, Angie Dow, shared it with the class.

Talk about an aha moment. Something in these pages clicked with me. It changed the way I thought about creativity, advertising, design, and what actually connected with people. It set a bar and created a standard. One that, as an owner, I’ve woven into the fabric of Second Rodeo Creative, and that is the driving force behind the work we do.

After losing this book years ago, I had to buy a copy again. You’d think a book that left this much of an imprint on me, I would have remembered the title and author. But I just couldn’t come up with either. I remembered the work. And I remembered the cover. The curse of being a visual person, I guess. But I finally tracked it down 5 years later. And it’ll find its place back on the bookshelf after I comb through every page just as I did as a college sophomore.

We're looking for two on-camera actors, roughly 55 to 75, for an upcoming commercial shoot in Northern Michigan.

What we're looking for:

• Comfortable being filmed
• Comfortable delivering a few speaking lines
• Natural personality
• Acting experience is welcome, but not required
• Must be available for a full-day shoot

This is a paid opportunity.

These roles portray two relatable, everyday Northern Michigan personalities, so we're looking for individuals who feel genuine, expressive, and comfortable on camera. Great chemistry and authentic reactions are more important than previous acting experience.
