I can usually tell within seconds why an outfit feels “off,” even when the woman wearing it can’t quite explain why.

That’s not magic. It’s pattern recognition developed through education and years of looking carefully. I’m noticing color, proportion, scale, fabric, focal points, and where the eye travels. But there’s another layer that matters just as much:

What is this outfit communicating?

Because a beautifully styled outfit can still be wrong for the woman, her objective, or her life.

Executive presence requires different visual cues than a weekend with family. A speaking engagement is different from dinner with friends. And an outfit that looks great on paper still isn’t right if she feels like she’s playing a character.

That’s why there isn’t one “perfect” wardrobe.

There’s a wardrobe that makes sense for you: your coloring, proportions, personality, goals, and life.

And that’s where Infinite Image begins.

Not with what you should buy.
With understanding you.

What would you most want a stylist to evaluate: color, fit, wardrobe, or professional presence?

I don’t believe expertise means reaching a point where there’s nothing left to learn. If anything, real expertise makes you more aware of how much there still is to notice.

This week, I’m spending time with a friend I met years ago through our industry, and it’s reminded me how much I’ve learned from other professionals.

Books, certifications, conferences, and education matter. I’ve invested heavily in all of them and continue to do so.

But there’s something uniquely valuable about sitting across from another expert and asking, “What are you seeing? What are you learning? What’s changing?”

Good professionals protect their expertise.
Great professionals stay curious.

That’s what humility means to me. Not minimizing what you know, but holding it with enough openness to keep learning, listening, and refining.

It’s also what I want to cultivate within the Infinite Image team: better questions, deeper observation, and a constant desire to serve our clients better.

Because the goal isn’t simply to know style. It’s to understand women well enough to use that knowledge in service of them.

After all these years, I’m still learning.
I hope I always am.

What have you become MORE curious about as you’ve gained experience in your field?

We have more access to style inspiration than any generation before us, yet women are still standing in full closets saying, “I have nothing to wear.”

The problem usually isn’t inspiration. It’s the lack of a filter.

When you see an outfit online, you’re seeing it on someone else’s coloring, proportions, personality, lifestyle, and body. You can be inspired by it without copying it.

That’s where strategy comes in.

Instead of asking, “Where did she buy that?” ask, “What am I responding to?”

Maybe it’s the color combination. The proportions. The structure. The way the outfit feels polished and finished.

Once you understand why you love it, you can translate the idea into something that actually belongs to you.

Inspiration gives you ideas. Strategy gives you discernment.
And that’s where personal style starts becoming personal.

Save this for your next Pinterest-inspired shopping trip - and send it to the friend with 4,000 screenshots who still says she has nothing to wear. 😉

“But it’s cute!” is not a wardrobe strategy.

And I say that with great affection for cute clothes. I love them too. But liking something on a hanger is only the beginning.

When I’m evaluating a piece for a client, I’m asking: Does it flatter her? Does it work with what she already owns? Does it fit her lifestyle? And most importantly, does it communicate who she is now?

Because a cute blazer that works with nothing else in your closet isn’t a great purchase.

A dress you love but never have anywhere to wear isn’t useful.
And a color that fights your natural coloring doesn’t become right just because it’s trending.

Personal style is more strategic than “I like this.”

The goal isn’t to need a stylist forever. It’s to develop the clarity to know why something works for you. That’s when shopping changes. Your closet changes. Getting dressed changes.

You stop collecting clothes and start building a wardrobe that actually supports the woman you’re becoming.

So tell me: what gets you first when you’re shopping - color, fit, price, or “it’s cute”?

There’s a particular kind of stress that comes from needing something right when you need it.

The important meeting is tomorrow. The event is this weekend. Fall is coming, and suddenly the calendar is full and the closet feels like one more thing to figure out.

We tend to think we’ll prepare when life slows down.
But life rarely does.

Sometimes preparation looks like planning a few outfits before the calendar fills up, trying on your fall clothes now, or noticing the wardrobe gaps before you’re shopping under pressure.

And sometimes, preparation means tending to your heart, too.

For me, that looks like prayer, Scripture, and reminding myself that I’m responsible for faithful preparation, not controlling every outcome.

That distinction brings freedom.

So as your next season approaches, ask yourself:
What can I prepare today that my future self will be grateful for?

Growth is exciting, but for me, the best kind of growth is about becoming better equipped to serve.

Over the years, women have trusted Infinite Image with far more than their wardrobes. They’ve invited us into career changes, body changes, celebrations, disappointments, and new beginnings.

That kind of work requires more than an eye for style. It requires compassion, patience, listening, and seeing the woman before the wardrobe.

That’s why I’m so excited to introduce you to Melissa.

You’ll be seeing more of her around Infinite Image as she steps into this new season with our team. She shares our heart for helping women feel seen, supported, and confident in the lives they’re living.

As we’ve reflected on Colossians 3:12–14, I’ve been reminded of the qualities we want to wear as a team: compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, patience, forgiveness, and above all, love.

Those qualities shape how we serve our clients and how we welcome one another.

Melissa, we’re so grateful you’re here. ❤️

Help us welcome Melissa to the Infinite Image family!

Every August, families get ready for the school year.

Supplies are bought. Calendars are updated. Uniforms are checked. Shoes are replaced.

Because we know the first busy morning is not the time to discover what’s missing.

Yet so many women do exactly that with their wardrobes.

We wait until the important meeting to realize the trousers don’t fit. Until the invitation arrives and nothing feels right. Until the weather changes and our closet is full of clothes we don’t actually want to wear.

Then comes the emergency shopping trip.

But your wardrobe deserves a little preparation, too.

Know your colors. Edit what isn’t working. Identify the real gaps. Create a few outfits you can count on when life gets busy.

That’s wardrobe strategy.

Not a perfect closet. A closet that supports your real life.

Your August “supply list” might be a Color Analysis, a closet edit, a great pair of trousers, or three complete outfits you know you’ll wear.

A little preparation now can create a lot more breathing room later.

What would make getting dressed easier right now: knowing your colors, editing your closet, or having dependable outfits ready to go?

There are moments in motherhood when pride and tenderness sit beside each other.

You can be genuinely excited for your child while still feeling the ache of knowing life is changing.

Our family is entering one of those seasons. We’re preparing for a new chapter in our son’s education and aviation journey, and while there is so much to celebrate, there’s also a tenderness that comes with realizing the rhythm of our home is about to change.

For a long time, I thought being prepared meant I should also feel completely ready.

But preparation is practical. Readiness is emotional.

Sometimes our hands finish packing before our hearts have caught up.

This week, I keep returning to Colossians 3:12 and its reminder to clothe ourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience.

Maybe patience isn’t just something we offer others. Maybe it’s also the grace we give ourselves while we adjust.

We can trust God and still feel uncertain.
We can be grateful and still grieve what’s changing.
We can be ready for what’s next and still need time to release what’s been.

Transition rarely arrives with one tidy emotion.

So if you’re standing in a doorway of your own right now, give yourself permission to feel all of it.

What transition has taught you that two feelings can be true at the same time?

One of the biggest myths about personal styling is that you hire a stylist once, build a wardrobe, and you're done.

But your life doesn't stay the same.

Your career evolves. Your body changes. Your schedule shifts. The clothes that served you a few years ago may not support the woman you are today.

That's why I love working with long-term styling clients.

Because we're not starting over every season - we're refining. We already know what fits, what flatters, what you love, and where you tend to get stuck. We can update a few key pieces, create fresh combinations, or adjust your wardrobe to fit your life now.

Most women don't need an entirely new closet.

They need someone who understands the bigger picture and can help them make wise, strategic decisions instead of expensive guesses.

Your wardrobe should grow with you.

If you'd like ongoing support from a stylist who knows your story, comment STYLIST and I'd love to share more.

There are seasons when caring for ourselves feels surprisingly complicated.

We make appointments for everyone else. We carry the needs of our families, clients, and teams. But when it comes to ourselves, we wait.

This week has reminded me that caring for ourselves isn't selfish. It's an honest acknowledgment that we're human.

Our bodies change. Our energy changes. Our needs change. And the woman you are today may need something different than she did five or ten years ago.

Colossians 3 tells us to clothe ourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. I don't think that's only for how we treat others. It's also how we respond to ourselves.

Sometimes compassion looks like making the appointment, asking for help, resting without guilt, or choosing to dress your body with respect instead of resentment.

Getting help isn't giving up control. Sometimes it's the first step toward clarity - and feeling like yourself again.

Where could you offer yourself a little more compassion this week?
