A few more of my favorite moments from Saturday’s Vintage Sessions at the Holiday market.
I don’t say this out loud very often but it’s been a dream of mine since graduate school to have a brick-and-mortar space on a main street. I place where I could sell my art prints, display my conceptual projects, invite clients to sit for portraits, make prints and host events. A place where people could pop in for tea or just to chat. Here’s the thing though, being a mother has taught me that time moves at the speed of light at a snail’s pace. Do you know what I mean? I dream of the day when I have my own space and a sign on the street and regulars who visit but I also soak up the moments of dropping off my kids at preschool and watching dance classes and making paper snowflakes at the kitchen table. Whoever said we can have it all was not a mother. And I’m starting to be okay with compromising and meeting myself where I am, not where I wish I was. In 2024 my goal is to put down some but not all roots in a location. If it doesn’t happen, I won’t beat myself up about it because time is fluid and Mother Nature doesn’t know the date. I’ll just keep rolling forward without burning myself out.
Cheers to big dreams while also being present—to acknowledging that hustle culture isn’t all it’s cracked up to be and that slowly working towards a big goal can be rewarding too.
Okay I’m sounding like a life-coach now… 🤷🏻♀️
Rolling with it.
Hey maybe that will be my 2024 mantra…ROLLING WITH IT. 😛🫶
