I stopped by the last farmers market of the season at Gordon Park in Deadwood today! 🍂

I always tell myself I’m “just going to look”, and we all know how that goes. 😂 Today I found two pairs of handmade earrings from Wildflower Canyon Designs. They’re gifts, so I can’t show you yet, but they’re SO cute!

Have you ever taken a drive down Roughlock Falls Road?

Just off Spearfish Canyon Scenic Byway at Savoy, Roughlock Falls Road takes you into beautiful Little Spearfish Canyon, following Little Spearfish Creek through some of my favorite scenery in the Black Hills.

And there’s a little history behind the name “Roughlock.”

Back when wagons traveled through this area, the terrain was so steep that drivers would “rough-lock” the wheels to keep them from rolling freely as they made their way down. That’s where Roughlock Falls got its name.

Today, it’s a much more peaceful drive. 💜

Creek running alongside you, limestone cliffs, trees, trails and plenty of places that make you want to pull over, get out and explore.

I’ve lived in the Black Hills for a long time, and I still find myself looking around thinking…how lucky are we to have this in our backyard?

Sometimes you don’t need to go very far for an adventure.

You just need to take the turn. 🫶

Good morning from Lead. 💜

The sky is absolutely beautiful this morning. So many clouds, with little pieces of light finding their way through.
It makes me think about how much the sky can remind us about life.
Clouds come and go. Things change. Some days are darker than others. But the light is still there, even when we can’t always see it.
And eventually, it finds a way through.
Maybe that’s your little reminder this morning to look up. ☁️
There is so much beauty happening around us when we slow down long enough to notice it.
