🤖 The AI Station is now LIVE ‼️
at the Social Media Lab!

AI is changing how we learn, communicate, create, and work but using AI effectively means more than simply knowing how to generate an answer.

Our AI Station provides an opportunity for the WIU community to explore generative AI, experiment with prompting, evaluate AI-generated information, and develop a better understanding of both the possibilities and limitations of these emerging technologies.

The goal is not to replace your thinking. It is to learn how to use new technology critically, responsibly, and effectively.

Students, faculty, and staff are welcome to stop by and explore.

LinkedIn Series | Episode 8 — The Finale 🎬

You think you’re just scrolling
but your clicks, likes, comments, follows, and watch time are sending signals to the algorithm.

And here’s the catch: the algorithm doesn’t know your intentions.

You might engage with something because you disagree with it, but the platform may simply see engagement.

That’s why digital literacy isn’t just knowing how to use social media, it’s understanding how social media responds to you.

💡 You don’t just consume your feed. You help create it.

Be intentional with what you engage with.

LinkedIn Series | Episode 7 🎓💼

Don’t wait until you’re looking for a job to start building your network.

Start while you’re still learning.
Start while you’re still a student.
Start before you actually need the connections.

Because when the right opportunity comes along, you don’t want to be starting from zero.

Build your network before you need it.

LinkedIn Series | Episode 6 💼

Your LinkedIn profile might be making a first impression before you ever get the chance to.

From an incomplete profile photo to an empty About section to staying completely inactive, these small mistakes can make your profile easy to overlook.

08/11/2026

Your LinkedIn headline might be only a few words long but those words can shape the first impression people have of you.

Instead of simply writing “Student” or listing where you currently are, use your headline to communicate:

✨ What you do
✨ What you know
✨ Where you’re headed

Think of your headline as your professional introduction before you ever get the chance to introduce yourself.

🎬 LinkedIn Series | Episode 5
Your LinkedIn Headline Is More Important Than You Think.

Take a look at your headline. Does it describe where you are or where you’re going?

Sending a LinkedIn request with no message? It gets ignored more often than you think.

In today’s episode of our Digital Literacy Series, we break down why a simple note before you hit “connect” makes all the difference and what to actually say.

Watch now and let us know: do you always send a note, or skip it?
