Shirley is the team’s favorite. She brings laughter, energy, and keeps everyone updated on team moments through social media. Her posts celebrate the team culture and make work feel alive. 🎉

But one day, her manager noticed something concerning — a short clip from a team performance review meeting posted online. The clip showed him discussing company plans and how the team could get involved.

It definitely wasn’t meant for social media!

Shirley was called in and she was genuinely surprised.

"Why am I being questioned? I often post updates about the team. How would I know this one wasn’t allowed? No one warned me. Where is the policy? I was never oriented about this!"

This situation isn’t just about one post. It raises important questions for leaders and managers:

✨ Do we have clear social media policies?
✨ Are there defined guidelines on branding and confidentiality?
✨ Is the code of conduct accessible to all employees?
✨ Do employees receive regular orientation or refreshers on what can and cannot be shared?

Employees are often proud of their workplace and want to showcase their team culture online. But without clear guidance, even well-intentioned actions can lead to risk.

Hello managers, and leaders!

Have you ensured your teams clearly understand what is safe to share — and what must not be posted on the social media?

And if you don't have the answers to the questions Shirley asked, contact Comex Global LLC!

Appreciation
As an employee, how do you like to be appreciated?
Do you feel great when your manager simply says, “Thank you”?
Or when your team leader mentions your name for the support you gave in a project?
Do you feel valued when you’re invited into team discussions and your opinions are heard?
Does recognition for the extra effort you put into an urgent task motivate you even more?
Maybe being involved in a new project energizes you and makes you instantly ready to contribute.
Or perhaps appreciation means something more tangible:
• A performance bonus
• An opportunity for training and learning
• A promotion with greater responsibility and growth
• Being invited to present in a senior leadership meeting
• A lunch with your manager
• Or seeing your photo displayed as “Employee of the Month”
The list can go on.
The key thing to remember: every employee values appreciation differently.
As a manager, it’s important to understand—or at least try your best to learn—how each team member prefers to be recognized.
Don’t just follow a policy. Use your human instinct.
Appreciate your people not just today, but consistently.
Because when employees feel valued, they feel motivated, encouraged, and happier at work.

Growing a business is exciting—but it also brings difficult choices.

As a business expands, it needs the right people, clear strategy, and reliable resources. Yet for many small businesses, maintaining the right balance between these elements is a constant challenge.

Not every initiative leads to success. Sometimes opportunities themselves can become traps. Investments in people, systems, and processes may feel right at first, but when the business starts to shake, those same investments can become heavy burdens.

That’s when hard decisions appear.

Reducing costs, laying off employees, or discontinuing systems are never easy choices. But for many small business owners, sustainability requires prioritizing what truly supports the business.

One important lesson is to be cautious with fixed costs. Employee expenses, operational overheads, and system maintenance should never outweigh the value the business creates.

This is where outsourcing can play a powerful role. By outsourcing certain services, small businesses can access expertise, control costs, and reduce long-term risk.

A strong foundation and compliance are essential. With the right structure in place, businesses can focus on strategy, adapt to the market, and move forward with confidence.

If your business development strategy feels scattered, inconsistent, or stuck, it’s time for a smarter approach. We help businesses create clear growth systems—turning opportunities into revenue, and relationships into long-term partnerships.
