Hip-hop legend Rob Base, one-half of the iconic duo Rob Base & DJ E-Z Rock, has passed away at the age of 59 after a battle with cancer. Best known for the timeless hit “It Takes Two,” Rob Base helped transform hip-hop and dance music in the late 1980s and created songs that still inspire generations today.
Born in Harlem, New York, Rob Base met DJ E-Z Rock in fifth grade before the duo rose to fame with classics including “It Takes Two,” “Joy and Pain,” and “Get on the Dance Floor.” Their groundbreaking sound crossed genres and became part of music history.
