Design vs. reality. This is the actual truck, not an AI mockup.

The Wecleancans truck is a business card on wheels.

1- A clear message.
2- A distinctive visual identity.
3- An easy way to get in touch.

That’s all a service truck needs.

Enjoy!

If you don’t learn how to use AI, you’re cooked.

But here’s the twist: knowing how to use it isn’t enough anymore.

After 20 years in design, I’ve learned that what clients value most isn’t how well I draw. It’s understanding what the drawing is for: the business behind it, the customer it needs to reach, and the cost of getting it wrong.

AI is making technical skills more accessible. But judgment, business understanding, and the ability to connect the dots? Those are becoming even more valuable.

To put this into perspective:

- The market is increasingly rewarding people who combine technical skills with business knowledge.

- PwC reports a 62% wage premium in job postings requiring specific AI skills.

- Only 6% of companies are getting real returns from AI. The tool alone doesn’t change anything, the person using it does

The takeaway? The tool alone doesn’t create value. What matters is knowing when, why, and how to use it.

You’re no longer just the designer or the engineer. You’re the person who connects the pieces.

Have you noticed this shift in your own work?

Enjoy!..

Isn’t it fascinating that human personalities can be grouped into 12 archetypes?

From the Sage to the Jester, each represents a different set of motivations and values.

There are no right or wrong archetypes in mascot branding. They’re a useful conceptual framework for guiding brand personality and positioning, not a scientific classification or an absolute truth.

What matters is choosing the approach that best serves your brand strategy.

As for SOSFactory, I’d say my mascot archetype is the Sage (I love creating educational resources), with a bit of Creator, Everyman and Jester thrown in.

Enjoy!

I'm always grateful when clients bring their own concepts to the table.

Even when the graphic ex*****on isn't quite there yet, a good starting point can answer a lot of questions and give the redesign a clear direction.

Here are some of my recent redesigns.

This is what I meant in my previous post.

In the past, entry-level jobs gave people room to learn on the job. With AI, those entry-level opportunities are disappearing. We all have to step up.<

Experienced professionals already have the skills to adapt, but beginners are expected to show up with the skills they used to learn on the job.

In 2004, I was designing logos for $50–100.

I didn't know much about graphic design, but I could make a living from it.

The Internet was the Wild West.

Google was starting to dominate search, but the web was still scattered across search engines, directories and thousands of small communities. Facebook, Instagram and Twitter didn't exist yet.

The design world was different too. There were hundreds of forums where amateurs like us shared our work and cheered each other on. Picture Reddit split into thousands of communities, only a lot less nasty.

There was far less competition. No Fiverr, no 99designs. The real problem was finding clients: reaching traditional business owners online was almost impossible.

Luckily, there was another kind of client: the web entrepreneur. Thousands of people were buying domains, convinced the Internet would make them rich. Poker, adult content, directories... The online business fever was at its peak, and every one of them needed a logo.

I looked for clients on forums like WebHostingTalk. No personal brand, no social media, no content strategy. And pretty terrible English.

I just posted my work, offered my services and learned as I went.

These are some of the logos I designed 22 years ago.

A couple of years later, I was charging $400–500 for a mascot logo that I wasn't even vectorizing yet.

We were very lucky. We didn't start out as great professionals, but every job let us learn, improve and earn a little more on the next one.

Looking back, it was a privilege.

We got paid to learn.

Enjoy!

Having fun with my own brand mascot.

I'm creating a few posters with common missconceptions in branding.

I believe AI can help us explore ideas, solve simple problems, and move faster. But AI still doesn’t have creative direction, strategic criteria, or responsibility.

Enjoy!
