A bit of work for Lock Four VFC. The truck was purchased white-over-red with hand-gilded lettering and striping. Lettering was professionally removed and the doors buffed before I did any work, but there were a few places where it was determined that covering was the best option.

The white was expertly wrapped with black film by the folks over at The Sign Mill in North Charleroi. It looked so good that I had forgotten that the upper half of the cab had been white just a few weeks ago.

We applied all new digital print reflective engine-turn gold lettering, including the sign panels on the aerial, and then printed matching gold stripes and applied them over the well-worn hand-gilded leaf that bordered the white beltline stripe. We did a lot of sanding, scraping, and buffing to remove some gold and prepare the rest to be covered.

Thank you for being a long-time customer.

The plywood sign that I made in 2002 had seen better days after serving valiantly for over two decades. I took it down and determined that the plywood base was still in good condition, so I trimmed about a half inch from the perimeter, applied two coats of fresh paint, and then remounted it to serve as the base of a new digital print sign on an aluminum composite panel. Hoping the new sign will last as long as the old one.

With our workload of emergency vehicles to letter and stripe we don't do many signs these days, so it's nice to do one on occasion to switch things up a bit.

Removed the old, peeling, wonky paint break molding, cleaned and buffed the surface, and then applied a new reflective silver leaf stripe in its place. Now the paint break on the sides match the front of the cab.
