A little reintroduction for anyone who’s new around here. 👋

I’m Ciana, founder of The MoCo List.

I created The MoCo List because I wanted to make it easier to discover the local businesses, places and people worth knowing around Montgomery County.

Before The MoCo List, I spent years working in marketing and promoting small businesses and boutiques across the country. I’ve always loved the strategy side of it, figuring out what makes a business special, how to tell that story and how to get the right people to pay attention.

But I also genuinely love local.

I want to know about the coffee shop tucked into a corner you’ve driven past a hundred times. The woman making something incredible out of her home studio. The new restaurant everyone needs to try. The boutique with things you won’t find in every other zip code. The people creating really good things right here in our community.

So I built the thing I wanted to exist.

Today, The MoCo List is part local guide, part small business platform, part events + markets, part marketing brain...and very much me running around Montgomery County finding things I think you should know about.

I get to spend a lot of my time doing what I love most: discovering local businesses, telling their stories and helping more people find them.

And if you’re here because you want to know your local spots, support the people building something here, or just find somewhere good to go this weekend...

you’re on the right list. 🖤

Because local is a lifestyle.

Apparently all it takes is one You’ve Got Mail inspired cookie night and I’m emotionally done with summer. 🍂

Last night we headed to Navasota for the dreamiest evening at Blackberry & Honeysuckle with Elizabeth Botkin Morris of Bessie Bakes and every 👏🏻 single 👏🏻 detail 👏🏻 was so good.

We decorated the cutest cookies while You’ve Got Mail played in the background, had the best snacks + sips, and fully leaned into the cozy fall vibes.

And obviously we shopped afterward. Blackberry & Honeysuckle is so beautifully curated, with pieces that feel special and different from what you’ll find everywhere else. Hosting, gifting, home, or a little something for yourself… dangerous territory, honestly.

10/10 girls’ night.
10/10 fall kickoff.
Would absolutely come back for this again. 🍁📚✏️

save the dates. 👀

the market calendar has officially gotten a little more crowded, and I’m not mad about it.

the next few months are packed with markets, pop-ups, local businesses + plenty of reasons to keep your market money local.

for my shoppers: screenshot this one. save it. send it to your shopping buddy. come find new favorites, say hi to the people behind the businesses + make a day of shopping small.

for my vendors: some of these markets are already FULL, but there are still opportunities to get your business on the calendar.

→ check the Upcoming Markets link in my bio for current applications
→ if you see a market here that isn’t listed there yet, DM me and I’ll send you the application info
→ and yes, there are still more dates + opportunities coming

basically, your fall calendar is filling up nicely. 🤍

shop small. pop up local. repeat.

questions about a specific market? my DMs are always open.

If I have to investigate your Instagram to figure out where your business is located, we need to fix that. 🔎

And I know what you’re thinking: “But everyone around here knows where I am.”

Your current customers might.

The person who just found you? Probably not.

If you’re a local business, your location or service area should be one of the easiest things to find on your page.

📍 Storefront? Tell me the city.
📍 Service-based? Tell me the area you serve.
📍 Market vendor? Tell me where you’re based.
📍 Local pickup? Tell me WHERE.

Your bio has a very small amount of real estate. Make it work for you:

What do you do?
Where are you?
How do I buy, book or work with you?

No Instagram detective work required.

Go check your bio. Is your location in there? 👀

You don’t need to become a full-time content creator just because you own a business.

You don’t need to chase every trend.
Post three times a day.
Film every second of your life.
Or spend hours wondering what the heck you’re supposed to post tomorrow.

You need a plan.

That’s exactly why I created The MoCo List Insider.

Each month, I do the digging for you and put together a roadmap filled with content ideas, trends worth knowing, seasonal marketing opportunities, collaboration ideas, local opportunities + practical ways to market your business without letting marketing become your entire job.

And you’re not just getting a guide. We meet each month for an Insider Session where we can talk through what’s working, what you’re struggling with + what you should focus on next.

You already have a business to run. Your marketing should support it, not become another full-time job.

September Insider enrollment is open now. ✨

Join by August 30 to receive the September Insider Guide.

A very cute new reason to shop downtown Montgomery 🎀

We got a little pre-opening peek at Little Jules Children’s Boutique and I can already tell this one is going to be a favorite for anyone shopping for babies + kids. The clothes, the gifts, the tiny accessories and THE BOW WALL. 🎀

Little Jules officially opens this Saturday, August 29 at 10 AM with goodie bags, snacks + drinks, local vendors and a ribbon cutting at 11 AM.

Pandora Grey and I loved getting our custom live printed cookies from Massengale Flour Shop Obviously I needed one with my own face on it. 😂

Montgomery, TX

Go welcome them to the neighborhood this Saturday. Another locally owned business in downtown Montgomery is always worth celebrating. 🤍
