Ocala and Silver Springs small businesses, let’s make Halloween a little sweeter for local kids! 🎃

I’m starting our first annual Decorate & Donate, hosted by Carruthers Creative Co., and I’d love for businesses across Marion County to join us!

Decorate a plastic pumpkin bucket in a kid-friendly theme, fill it with individually wrapped candy and optional little goodies, and have it ready by October 26. Watch the reel for a little bucket inspiration!

I’ll arrange pickup, grab a photo with your business, and feature your donation on my page. Any local business can participate!

🎃 LOCAL BUSINESSES, LET’S DECORATE & DONATE!

Carruthers Creative Co. is starting a Halloween tradition, and any business in Ocala, Silver Springs, and our surrounding communities is invited!

Pick a kid-friendly theme, decorate a plastic pumpkin candy bucket, and fill it with individually wrapped candy and optional small goodies. Make it your own! I’ll feature participating businesses and their creations here on my page.

HOW TO PARTICIPATE
Comment “I’m in!” or message Carruthers Creative Co. to register your business. Have your finished bucket ready by October 26 and message me to coordinate drop-off.

HOW TO NOMINATE A CHILD
Starting October 1, a parent or guardian can privately message Carruthers Creative Co. with:
• The child’s first name and age
• Their town
• The parent or guardian’s name and preferred contact information

Teachers, churches, friends, and community organizations are welcome to help nominate, too! Please have the parent or guardian’s permission before sending their information.

No hardship story needed. Please keep children’s names and contact information out of the comments.

🎃 October 26: Finished buckets due
🎃 October 28: Nominations close
🎃 October 29: Winners randomly selected
🎃 October 30: Parent or guardian pickup by arrangement

One entry per child and one bucket per selected child. The number of recipients will depend on how many buckets are donated. We’ll contact parents or guardians privately and ask permission before sharing any child’s name publicly.

The more businesses that participate, the more children we can surprise! Let’s make our first annual Decorate & Donate something special for our community.

Birthday rewards really do work. 💜

A simple little birthday offer was enough to get me back out to one of my favorite local spots, District Bar & Kitchen, for lunch, and that’s exactly why I love when small businesses make their customers feel remembered.

Great atmosphere, a fun menu, my favorite ahi tuna poke wrap, and a beautiful view of Historic Downtown Ocala. And yes, I spotted those margaritas and sangria on tap and had to remind myself, “Girl, no… that’s for a whole different kind of day.” 😂

Then Bon Jovi playing as I headed out? Pretty perfect ending.

Small business owners, your birthday reward doesn’t have to be huge. Sometimes a little “we remembered you” is all it takes to bring someone back through the door.
