I love supporting small businesses. I love cheering them on, sharing their posts, celebrating their wins, and reminding our community why shopping local matters.

But supporting small business does not mean ignoring accountability.

When people help you build your dream, they deserve to be treated like they matter. Employees are often the ones serving the customers, answering the phones, handling the stressful moments, and keeping the doors open day after day.

As business owners, we have a responsibility to communicate honestly, treat people with respect, own our mistakes, and do everything we reasonably can to take care of the people who helped us get where we are.

Because when one small business breaks that trust, it does not only affect that business. It makes people question the next one too.

I will always support small businesses, but I will also stand up for the people behind them.

Small businesses win when their employees win too. Those two things should always go hand in hand. 💜

Every business has a beginning.

Mine just happened to begin around this dining room table.

For the past few months, this table has been covered in notebooks, contracts, color palettes, supplier lists, and more coffee than I’d like to admit. It became my office, my brainstorming space, and the place where a dream slowly turned into a real business.

I started Screams Events to create fun, beautiful, and memorable celebrations throughout Ocala and the surrounding areas.

I help families, businesses, and organizations celebrate with soft play, bounce houses, balloons, interactive party experiences, and event rentals.

Here's my unpopular opinion...
AI isn't ruining marketing.
Generic marketing is.
I use AI every single day, and I love it. It's one of the best tools available for brainstorming ideas, improving workflows, and saving time.
But here's the catch...
AI should help your creativity, not replace it.
Lately, my feed has been filled with graphics that all look the same. The same layouts. The same fonts. The same cluttered designs. The same "copy, paste, post" approach.
Your business deserves better than blending into the crowd.
When I create content for my clients, AI is just the starting point. Every design is customized to match their brand, personality, audience, and goals.
✨ Your customers don't remember generic.
They remember brands that feel authentic.
So don't ask yourself, "How fast can I make this?"
Ask yourself, "Would this make me stop scrolling?"

Sometimes the best content is not planned.
I was at Terry's Bar and Grill Ocala doing a food photo shoot, trying to get the perfect shot of those fries, when Victoria Atkinson walked by and made the face at just the right second.
And honestly? Perfect timing. Perfect photo. Perfect Terry’s energy. 😂
This is why I love real content. You can stage the food, fix the lighting, plan the graphic, and then the magic happens in the moment.

☀️ Vacation Check-In from the Carruthers Creative Crew!
Today was all about slowing down and soaking up some sunshine. 💦
