ATTENTION HOME SERVICE OWNERS: Google is making the biggest change to Local Services Ads (LSA) since the platform launched.
Starting August 2026, the standalone LSA dashboard is officially retiring. Google is folding LSAs directly into the main Google Ads interface (as a pay-per-lead Performance Max campaign).
While the pay-per-lead model and green Google Verified badge aren't going away, there is one major trap most contractors are going to fall into:
❌ YOUR HISTORICAL LSA REPORTING WILL NOT TRANSFER OVER.
Once your account is migrated to Google Ads, your past cost-per-lead benchmarks, reporting data, and conversion trends from the old LSA dashboard will be lost if you haven't exported them.
If you don't want your phone to stop ringing during peak season, here is the 3-step prep checklist we are running across all Digilatics client accounts right now:
1️⃣ EXPORT ALL HISTORICAL DATA TODAY
2️⃣ Keep YOUR GOOGLE BUSINESS PROFILE (GBP) AD-READY
3️⃣ PREPARE FOR BIDS TO ADJUST
Smart operators prepare before Google flips the switch. Unprepared contractors panic when lead volume dips and they can't figure out why.
At Digilatics, we already manage migration windows, data backups, and profile syncs for our clients so their lead flow never stalls.
