I'm incredibly proud of their dedication and remarkable accomplishments! These participants are now on their way to creating their businesses, backed by a truly supportive team.

It is truly an honor to help entrepreneurs reach their dreams! It's been a gift to see Celia Mayor, one of my Waubonsee Community College - Academia Emprende students build Las Tapatias Family Kitchen in Rochelle, IL.

Thanks to resources and support from , entrepreneurs can build their dreams and continue to fuel the economy.

🌟 Client Spotlight: Las Tapatias Family Kitchen

In May 2025, Celia brought a taste of Guadalajara, Mexico, to her community by opening Las Tapatías Family Kitchen, a family-owned restaurant serving traditional dishes such as carne en su jugo, birria, tortas ahogadas, and handcrafted margaritas made with natural fruits and quality tequila. 🍹🌮

Celia partnered with Noelia Ruiz, WCC’s Small Business Development Center Manager. She participated in the Academia Emprende Spring Cohort ’25, gaining confidence and support to overcome startup challenges and officially launch her dream restaurant.

Thanks to her dedication and the SBDC's guidance, Las Tapatías has already earned strong community support, and Celia is dreaming even bigger. ✨
