Our third packaging design in a series of hopefully more releases for the mighty Van Halen! This one is the 1986 mega-album 5150!! It was a great joy to work on this project and to bring the art back to life, by also adding loads of cool ephemera and photos! Hope you dig this one!

And here is the second KISS box set, Alive! We worked on this one during the first half of this year, simultaneously with the Dressed To Kill box sets. Once again, I would like to extend my gratitude to the band for giving us the trust, Ken Sharp, writer and researcher extraordinaire, and all the guys in our KISS community who provided me with invaluable assets.
To add, it is very special to be doing this. Giving the deluxe edition treatment, especially to this album, the album that catapulted KISS to super stardom! 😉

Here's the brand new KISS box set, Dressed To Kill, the 50th Anniversary Super Deluxe Edition. It was a monster of a project, because, as you will see soon, it wasn't the only box set we worked on earlier this year. Once again, lots of research went into this project, and this is almost my favorite part of these types of releases. Did you order yours? This one is dedicated to Ace Frehley.

It was brought to our attention that it has been 23 years to the day since 'KISS The Box Set' was released. This was our first project for KISS. Going through their photo archive and designing all the elements was a long process, yet, it was ever so exciting! Here we are all these years later, and the gift keeps giving!

In 1999 we were hired by Roadrunner Records to art direct and design the debut album by a band from Des Moines, Iowa. No one really knew much about them. That band is called Slipknot. We were given carte blanche in regard to the art, all that was given was the logo. In a very creative collaboration with the band’s own Clown, we created a new style, that really emphasized the madness of this 9-piece group. We created the ‘chicken-scratch’ calligraphy which is being used to this day. And along with photographers Dean Karr, Neil Zlozower, and Clown’s own photos and imagery, we created something very special. As the album was a big success, we were then also hired to design their sophomore album, IOWA. The rest, as they say, is history. We are forever grateful to the band and the label for giving us this opportunity. It put t42design on the map.
