Perfectly normal for us Thinkers
Mark Zuckerberg says he has no plans to stop working, even though his wealth gives him the freedom to retire whenever he wants. In a live interview with Complex, the Meta CEO said stepping away would simply be boring to him.
Zuckerberg explained that building things is what keeps him motivated. He can relax for a few days, play video games or recharge, but eventually he feels pulled back into creating something new.
That mindset helps explain Meta’s massive push into artificial intelligence. Zuckerberg described a future built around “personal superintelligence,” where AI assistants become deeply woven into everyday life.
He also pointed to AI-powered glasses as a potential next major computing platform. In his view, glasses could let people interact with technology without constantly staring down at a phone screen.
The article also notes that Zuckerberg’s drive extends beyond Meta. He and Priscilla Chan have reportedly spent more than $300 million building a large Hawaii estate, but even there, Zuckerberg is working on projects instead of simply relaxing.
One of those projects involves raising high-quality beef by experimenting with cattle genetics, macadamia nuts and b**r as part of the feeding process. The larger point is that Zuckerberg does not seem motivated only by money or status. For him, the work itself appears to be the point.
