One volunteer day can make an impact. Coming back shows commitment.

Patrick Brenton and Austin Poe from our Minneapolis team volunteered with Feed My Starving Children, an organization they’ve continued to support over the years.

This time, they helped contribute to 116 boxes packed and 25,056 meals prepared. That’s enough to help feed 68 children a daily meal for a year.

That kind of impact takes a lot of hands, a lot of coordination, and people willing to give their time. We’re proud of Patrick and Austin for continuing to show up for a cause that matters.

Sometimes giving back means wrangling a group of 5th graders from Colonial Elementary.

Our Territory Manager out of Philadelphia, Danny George, chaperoned his son’s class trip to see the Lehigh Valley IronPigs. More than 500 kids made the trip, and his group got the full experience with hot dogs, souvenirs, and even a baseball from one of the players.

As Danny put it, “It was a little hectic watching over a bunch of excited, sugar-fueled 5th graders, but overall a wonderful experience.”

Whether it’s cleaning up a park or helping make a memory for a group of kids, supporting the communities we’re part of is how we live the Accelion Way.

For the fourth year in a row, our NY Metro team returned to Ralph Bunche Park.

Working with City Parks Foundation and Friends of Ralph Bunche Park, they spent the day removing trash, pruning, weeding, planting, and clearing invasive species.

Sitting across from the UN and named for Nobel Peace Prize winner, this work carries a little extra weight.

Afterward, the park coordinator shared that they were “so appreciative” of the team’s help and said Accelion has played a big part in the park’s transformation over the years.

That kind of impact doesn’t happen in one afternoon. It happens when people keep coming back to support the community.

Many hands make light work, but there was still plenty of heavy lifting.

At the end of April, one of our teams spent the day at Camp Hope for Kids helping clear out and renovate their weight room. The crew removed thousands of pounds of old equipment and rubber flooring, scraped and repainted walls, and helped move mulch around the property.

Camp Hope for Kids now has a stronger space to keep serving the kids and families who count on them, and we're grateful we could play a small part.

Short-term numbers aren’t the same as long-term trust. You might get the sale, but that doesn’t always leave people feeling good about how they got there. And when the experience feels off, people remember your name for the wrong reasons.

But a better approach isn’t about backing off. It’s about leaning in the right way and knowing how to move a conversation without forcing it.

That keeps people engaged and makes room for real relationships instead of relying on pressure to do the work.

Closing the deal is still the goal, but how you get there matters.
If you keep that in mind, you’re already thinking beyond the sale, and that’s where stronger business relationships start.

Trust rarely starts with the pitch. It starts in the moment someone realizes you know your stuff and aren't just trying to force a "yes".

A rehearsed pitch can get attention. It can even get the sale. But push too hard and people stop engaging honestly. They either shut down or agree just to move on after the conversation. That's not trust. That's pressure.

The better way is knowing the work, showing up well, and letting that speak for itself.

Because the goal isn't to get through one conversation. It's to leave people open to the next one so they come back when they need something, feel good about doing business with you, and, if you're lucky, send someone else your way.
