If you’ve been around here a while, you know I’m not online 24/7. Not even close lol.

And I’ll always be the first person to tell you to log off, take the weekend, stop scrolling.

But I know there’s a lot of fear that if you’re not poating constantly, the algorithm’s going to ban you.

And, who knows, maybe there’s some truth to that, but here’s what I know:

✨ there’s more peace in giving yourself what you need than there is value in posting just to post. ✨

We’re over here trying to work smarter, not harder — and sometimes that looks like logging off. Which is exactly what I did this past weekend 😇

So please enjoy these clips from past trips, and maybe think about taking a break yourself. I promise your people will still be here!!

Absolutely devastated that August (and summer) are coming to an end 😫 so here’s what I’m reminding myself.

September is truly SO lively — there’s so much more to look forward to!!

And if this is the kind of reminder you need too, my monthly newsletter might be right up your alley 🫶 link always in my bio.

I always wanted to be a journaler, but it didn’t come easily to me. I would start a new journal with the best intentions and then inevitably after a few days I would get distracted and abandon the practice.

Until one day, it stuck.

If you’re familiar with The Artist’s Way, you’ve probably heard of the concept of Morning Pages: 3 pages, longhand, first thing every morning.

No elaborate prompts or rules — just committing to showing up.

I started the practice thinking I would *try* to stick to it for 3 months. Fast forward, and it’s a practice that I’ve now been doing for YEARS.

I couldn’t really tell you why it stuck this time. Maybe it was just the right season of my life, or maybe it was the complete lack of expectation I put on it. I really don’t know. But what I do know is, I have a better day when I take 30 minutes in the morning to write.

If you’ve always wanted to journal too, I encourage you to consider this practice. Here are some things that I think have helped it stick for me:

• phone in other room - if it’s with me, inevitably I’ll pick it up a get sucked in
• not strict rules - I don’t write every single day, and I don’t always write 3 pages — sometimes less, but sometimes more!
• zero rules for what I “should” write - sometimes it’s lists, sometimes it’s “I don’t know what to write”, sometimes it’s a personal therapy session. No entries are better than others.
• make it a ritual - for me, I cozy up on my couch with my critters & my coffee, and I look forward to it every day.

That’s it. It’s not rocket science, but wow is it powerful.

I hope you give it a try 🧡

And my DMs are always open if you have questions or want to chat about your experience!!

My hope for you is that you work smarter, not harder, when it comes to your socials 🙏

And, in my opinion, that is simply not possible without a plan — aka a social strategy.

Part of why social feels so hard is because you’re guessing at every turn. But I promise you, if you invest in developing a strategy, and answering the big questions up front, the rest of your social journey is going to feel a lot lighter and will actually yield better results 🙂‍↕️

Here’s the truth: you don’t need a perfectly curated photo to make good content.

Sometimes the most random photo leads to the most engaging content because it gives people a peak into your world.

Between your caption, your visual and your CTA, I promise you can make a compelling post out of just about anything.

Here are 10 random images I’ve snapped recently that could absolutely be used to create a strong post 🙂‍↕️

You already have plenty of content to work with. Let go of perfection and just get your message out there!!

💫 share this with someone who needs the reminder 💫

If you know me in real life, you’ve definitely heard me yammer on about the perfect summer days I got to spend on a teeny island off the coast of Maine throughout my childhood. It was magic.

And when I think about happiness — real, soul-level happiness — I think of those days.

While it’s been several years since we’ve spent the lazy days of August on the island hunting for sea glass, picking blueberries and gathering together, this August I’m committing to bringing some of that island magic into my every day life here on the mainland.

This months newsletter is a love letter to August, but really to the little island that raised me and to making our own joy 🫶
