These Maltese crosses for Newcastle’s fire trucks still require a lot of steps my equipment can’t do. I wish I could just push that one button and they would come out the other side, but I haven’t found that button yet. In the meantime, the black is printed on metallic silver and pulled out of the printer/plotter. The gold and red are cut on another plotter, weeded, premask and overlaid on to the black by hand. The whole piece is then laminated, put back in the printer/plotter while hoping the cut registration is read exact and the knife depth is cut right(…if not, curse, jump up and down and go back to square one). Then they’re weeded, premasked, cut, lined, bagged, boxed and sent on their merry way.
